Best Pickleball Bags: 9 Picks Compared

The short answer

Take the CRBN Pro Team Tour Bag 2.0 if you carry several paddles, shoes and spare clothes, the Selkirk Core Line Day Bag for a compact backpack, and the Mangrove Pickleball Bag (check price) if you want a small sling.

Our verdict

Top Picks

A pickleball bag can be a sling that holds a paddle and a few balls, a backpack with a shoe pocket and a laptop sleeve, or a duffle that carries a tournament weekend. The listings count paddles in different ways, and several leave out the size, the fabric or the paddle count altogether. This guide compares nine bags you can buy on Amazon today, from a compact sling to six-paddle tour bags, and states each bag’s capacity, compartments, dimensions and materials the way its maker lists them.

Three things shape the list. Every pick names the exact listing the link opens, so you know which colour and size it is. Every figure comes from the maker or from a named reviewer, with “not published” where we found none, and where the sources disagree we print both sides. And every pick is sold new on Amazon: three by Amazon.com itself and six through the brand’s own Amazon storefront.

“Paddle capacity” is the count the maker states, with “not published” where it gives none; reviewers’ own counts are marked. “Size” is the maker’s dimensions, or “listing” where the maker’s page gives none and the figure is from the maker’s Amazon listing; the weight fields in Amazon’s listings are not used, because they often give the shipping weight rather than the product’s. The “Linked model” column is the exact listing each button opens. The table does not compare bags on price.

How These Bags Were Chosen

How this guide was built

from the makers’ pages and listings, published reviews from three independent sites (Pickleheads, Matt’s Pickleball and bepickleballer) and owner comments on r/Pickleball; we have not tested these products ourselves.

What we compared

  • Paddle capacity as the maker states it: a count where one is printed, “not published” where it is not. We never work a count out from the dimensions.
  • Compartments: the paddle pockets, shoe compartment, cooler or insulated pocket and valuables pockets each maker lists.
  • Dimensions, volume and material as the maker lists them; where the maker’s page gives none, the figure comes from the maker’s own Amazon listing and is labelled “listing”.
  • Carry style: sling, backpack, duffle or a convertible strap.
  • Where the listing sits on Amazon: every pick is new and in stock as of 21 October 2026, sold by Amazon.com (JOOLA, HEAD and Franklin) or by the brand’s own storefront (CRBN, Six Zero, Selkirk, HAMBOLY and Mangrove).
Sources, what owners report and bags we left out

Sources

Specifications come from CRBN’s Tour Bag 2.0 and Sling Bag pages, Six Zero’s Pro Tour Bag page, JOOLA’s Tour Elite page, HEAD’s Pro Pickleball Bag page, Selkirk’s Core Line Day Bag page and Franklin’s sling bag page; that site refuses some readers, so for Franklin’s dimensions and material the Amazon listing is the fallback and is labelled as such. HAMBOLY and Mangrove have no site of their own that we could find, so their figures come from their Amazon listings. Independent impressions come from Pickleheads’ bag guide, Matt’s Pickleball’s bag guide and bepickleballer’s guide to bags with a shoe compartment. Matt’s Pickleball’s site refuses our automated checker, so no pick’s evidence class rests on it. None of the three sells these bags that we could find; all three carry affiliate links, as we do. HEAD’s bag has no independent review that we could read, so it rests on the maker’s page.

What owners report

In a May 2025 r/Pickleball thread titled “Best Pickleball Bag”, the original poster carries 2-3 paddles and 4 balls and does not want a tournament-size bag. The highest-scored comment says: “I just have a big backpack. I can fit 4 paddles, 6 balls, a thermos on the side, glasses, etc. I dont see a need to pay big money for a name brand.” Another commenter writes that they like the Six Zero Performance backpack and its separate drawstring shoe bag and insulated snack bag, and a third that they returned an ADV bag, saying: “The mesh is thin and the bag is unstructured.” These are single comments, not a survey.

Bags we left out

Several bags the review sites mention are not here. The JOOLA Tour Elite Pro, which Pickleheads reviews as its top pick, is not a pick because its Amazon price was above JOOLA’s own price when we checked. The Wilson Super Tour, a HEAD backpack and the Friday Pickle Tour Bag had their Amazon buy box held by third-party sellers we had not vetted. The Gamma Tour Tote’s listing title says Black while its colour field says White, so we could not confirm which colour the link opens. ADV’s own page sells its backpack as a Tennis Backpack V2 for up to three racquets, and we could not match it to the “ADV Pickleball Backpack V2” that Matt’s Pickleball names.

CRBN Pro Team Tour Bag 2.0, Six-paddle tour bag

Six-paddle tour bag
Pro Team Tour Bag 2.0 by CRBN Pickleball | Built-In Zip-Off…

CRBN Tour 2.0

Up to 6

Players who bring several paddles, shoes and spare clothes to a tournament or a long session and want one bag for all of it.

$104.99 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A tour-size bag with two thermal-lined side pockets that CRBN says take three paddles each, a vented shoe compartment and a zip-off sling. Matt’s Pickleball lists it under “Best tour bag (haul everything)”; we found no test of it that we could check.

Evidence: No independent test; maker specs. Source: CRBN’s product page.

Matt’s Pickleball writes: “Six paddles across two thermal-lined side pockets, a zip-off sling for the days you do not need all of it, a vented shoe compartment, and a top pocket that doubles as a cooler. It’s like two bags in one.” CRBN’s page agrees on the capacity: “enough space to carry up to 6 paddles,” in “2 padded, thermal-lined side pockets that can comfortably fit 3 paddles each.” It also lists an underneath compartment for dirty clothes, built-in fence hooks and shoulder straps that double as a duffle carry. Our automated checker cannot open Matt’s Pickleball’s site, which blocks automated readers, so we read that page through a text reader on 21 October 2026 and class this pick’s evidence as maker specs. CRBN gives the dimensions and weight but not the volume or the fabric, only a “weatherproof outer shell.”

The linked listing is the Grey colour, sold by CRBN’s own Amazon storefront and shipped by Amazon. Amazon’s title says Black; the listing’s colour and model number (CRBNTOURGRY) are Grey.

Specs (Pro Team Tour Bag 2.0, Grey, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: up to 6, two side pockets of three each (maker)
  • Compartments: 2 thermal-lined side pockets, vented shoe compartment, thermal-lined top pocket, centre pouch, underneath compartment
  • Dimensions: 23 in L x 12 in H x 14 in W; weight 3 lb (maker)
  • Volume: not published
  • Material: not published; “weatherproof outer shell” (maker)
  • Carry: backpack straps that double as duffle carry; zip-off sling (maker)

Pros

  • Two thermal-lined side pockets that the maker says each take three paddles
  • Vented shoe compartment and an underneath compartment for dirty clothes
  • Zip-off sling for lighter days, by the maker’s description

Cons

  • Large for a player who carries one or two paddles
  • Volume and fabric are not published
  • No test of it that we could check; the one editorial source is a recommendation, not a measured test

Six Zero Pro Tour

Paddle capacity 6

Players, coaches and tournament travellers who carry a lot of paddles and extras and want a large single bag.

$149.99 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A 60 L duffel-backpack with twin side pockets that Six Zero says take three paddles each; Pickleheads labels it “Best storage.”

Evidence: Independently reviewed, exact model. Pickleheads: Six Zero Pro Tour Bag.

Pickleheads writes: “If you’re a pro, coach, or tournament player, the Six Zero Pro Tour is the bag you want if you carry a lot of paddles and extras.” It says its reviewer wears the bag almost always as a backpack, because it feels heavier and less comfortable carried as a duffle, and adds: “If you’re a casual player, it is a little cumbersome getting it in and out of your car, unless you have a large vehicle.” Six Zero’s page lists a ventilated shoe compartment, a large cooler compartment, a lower compartment for dirty attire and built-in carabiner hooks, and says the bag is sized for travel and “conveniently fits into an aircraft overhead,” which is the maker’s claim; we have not checked it against any airline’s limits.

The linked listing is the Black/Grey 2025 model sold by Six Zero US, which also ships it.

Specs (Pro Tour Bag 2025, Black/Grey, 60 L, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: 6, two side pockets of three each (maker)
  • Compartments: 2 padded thermal-lined side pockets, ventilated shoe compartment, cooler compartment, 3-zone zipper compartment, lower compartment
  • Dimensions: 25 in L x 12 in H x 16 in W; 60 L (16 gallons); weight 2.8 lb (maker)
  • Material: vegan leather upper, tarpaulin bottom and sides (maker)
  • Carry: backpack straps that convert to duffle handles; top handle (maker)

Pros

  • Twin padded, thermal-lined side pockets that the maker says each hold three paddles
  • 60 L with a ventilated shoe compartment and a separate cooler compartment
  • Labelled “Best storage” by Pickleheads, whose reviewer says it can hold everything for two players

Cons

  • A bulky bag for casual players, by Pickleheads’ account
  • Heavier and less comfortable as a duffle than as a backpack, according to Pickleheads’ reviewer
  • Carry-on suitability is the maker’s claim only

Listing 4+

Players who want a duffle that can also be worn as a backpack and are comfortable with a paddle count the maker gives only on Amazon.

$109.95 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A 45 L bag from JOOLA that converts from backpack to duffle and has two thermal paddle compartments. The independent evidence is bepickleballer’s review of the larger Tour Elite Pro, and the maker’s page prints no paddle count for this bag.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, same series. bepickleballer: JOOLA Tour Elite Pro (the source’s own link: B0B4TYGK3L / B0B4TZVBW3); we link the 45 L Tour Elite.

bepickleballer gives its “Runner-Up Bag” to the JOOLA Tour Elite Pro, the larger sibling of the bag we link; its own Amazon links open the Pro’s listings (B0B4TYGK3L and B0B4TZVBW3). It writes “I take Joola Tour Elite bag with me everywhere,” and says the Pro’s shoe compartment sits on the base of the bag and that the Pro works as both a backpack and a duffle. The review gives no volume, and the Pro is the 66.4 L bag, not the 45 L Tour Elite we link, so we class it as same-series evidence. JOOLA’s page for the linked bag lists “2 thermal, wipeable paddle compartments” and gives no paddle count; JOOLA’s Amazon listing says each of the two compartments holds up to 2 paddles and titles the bag “4+.”

JOOLA’s page describes the bag as carry-on and checked-travel compliant, which is the maker’s statement. The linked listing is the White colour, sold by Amazon.com.

Specs (Tour Elite, White, 45 L, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: not on JOOLA’s page; the Amazon listing says up to 2 per compartment, 4+ in all
  • Compartments: 2 thermal wipeable paddle compartments, interior snap-closure shoe bag, hidden valuables pocket, multiple exterior pockets (maker)
  • Dimensions: 21.25 in x 11.75 in x 11 in; volume 45 L (maker)
  • Material: neoprene (listing); not on the maker’s page
  • Carry: converts from backpack to duffle with hideaway shoulder straps (maker)

Pros

  • Converts from backpack to duffle with hideaway shoulder straps
  • Two thermal, wipeable paddle compartments and a separate snap-closure shoe bag
  • Described by JOOLA as carry-on and checked-travel compliant (maker’s claim)

Cons

  • The maker’s page gives no paddle count; the paddle count appears only in the Amazon listing
  • Evidence is same-series: the reviewer tested the larger Tour Elite Pro (66.4 L), not this 45 L bag
  • Fabric appears only in the Amazon listing

Up to 6

Players who want a six-paddle bag from a racquet-sports brand and are happy to rely on the maker's specifications alone.

$109.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A 45 L bag with two paddle compartments, a shoe compartment and a climate-control pocket. We found no independent review of it, so the facts here are HEAD’s.

Evidence: No independent test; maker specs. Source: HEAD’s product page.

HEAD’s page counts capacity in “racquets”: “Designed for up to 6 racquets, offering additional room for gear or clothing.” It lists “2 Racquet Compartments,” “1 Shoe Compartment” and “1 Accessory Zipper Pocket,” and gives the volume as 45 L. HEAD’s Amazon listing says the two compartments “store up to six paddles.” The sources differ on what the CCT+ climate control covers: HEAD’s page says it is “to protect your racquets from extreme temperatures,” while the Amazon listing says the compartment “helps shield your phone, wallet, keys, and electronics from extreme temperatures.” HEAD’s page gives no dimensions or materials, so those come from the Amazon listing, which sells it as the Pro Pickleball Bag in Black/White, sold by Amazon.com.

Specs (Pro Pickleball Bag M, Black/White, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: up to 6; HEAD’s page counts “racquets” (maker)
  • Compartments: 2 racquet compartments, 1 shoe compartment, 1 accessory zipper pocket (maker); built-in hanging hook (listing)
  • Dimensions: 24 in x 16 in x 11 in (listing); volume 45 L (maker)
  • Material: polyester and TPU outside, polyester and TPE inside (listing)
  • Weight: not published

Pros

  • Up to six paddles in two dedicated compartments, by HEAD’s count
  • Separate shoe compartment and an accessory zipper pocket
  • HEAD states the volume as 45 L

Cons

  • No independent review or test that we could read
  • HEAD’s page and the Amazon listing differ on what the climate-control pocket protects
  • Dimensions and materials come from the listing, not the maker’s page

Maker up to 6

Players who carry a paddle or two, a change of clothes and a laptop to a day on the courts and want a light backpack.

$48.98 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A small polyfiber backpack with a 15-inch laptop sleeve and no fence hook. Pickleheads labels it “Best day pack”; the paddle count is where the sources disagree.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, exact model. Pickleheads: Selkirk Core Line Day Bag.

Selkirk’s page says the “spacious main compartment fits up to 6 paddles or other gear,” and the Amazon listing’s bullet repeats it, though that listing’s title says “Holds 2 Paddles.” Pickleheads writes: “The main compartment is surprisingly spacious, able to fit up to six paddles (according to Selkirk). That’s a bit of a stretch, though you might be able to do it with nothing else in the bag.” Its reviewer says “I can comfortably fit two or three paddles in here along with a change of clothes, a towel, and a packed lunch.” Pickleheads also notes that the bag has no fence hook and that the front zipper pocket “could be bigger.”

The linked listing is the Black colour in the Day Bag size, sold by Selkirk’s own Amazon storefront. Selkirk also sells a Core Line Team Bag, which we do not link.

Specs (Core Line Day Bag, Black, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: up to 6 or other gear (maker); Pickleheads’ reviewer fits 2-3 with other gear
  • Compartments: main compartment, protected 15-inch laptop sleeve, internal organizer pocket, padded front pocket, mesh water bottle pocket (maker)
  • Dimensions: W 13 in x D 5 in x H 16 in (maker); weight 1 lb (Amazon listing and Pickleheads)
  • Material: +V11 Max Polyfiber Performance material (maker)
  • Fence hook: none (Pickleheads)

Pros

  • Compact 13 x 5 x 16 in backpack with a protected laptop sleeve and a mesh bottle pocket
  • Weighs about 1 lb, by the listing and Pickleheads’ table
  • Made from Selkirk’s polyfiber material, which Pickleheads says “feels like it will stand the test of time”

Cons

  • No fence hook, per Pickleheads
  • Pickleheads calls six paddles “a bit of a stretch” unless the bag is otherwise empty
  • A simplified design with few organizer pockets, by Pickleheads’ account

Not published

Players who want a shoe compartment and a cooler pocket in a backpack and can live without a stated paddle count.

$35.98 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A 35 L backpack with a shoe compartment, an insulated front pocket and a wet/dry pocket. bepickleballer picks it as a bag that holds shoes; the listing gives no paddle count.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, same series. bepickleballer: HAMBOLY pickleball bag, 12.2 x 7.8 x 18.5 inches; bepickleballer’s links open B0D8LFLM3S, Dark Grey + Blue of the linked family.

bepickleballer writes: “The Hamboly pickleball bag is the best budget pickleball bag that hold shoes in my opinion.” It says it has taken the bag on several trips with paddles, a laptop and clothes. It describes separate zippered pockets for paddles and balls, a shoe pocket at the front, an insulated drinks pocket and a wet/dry pocket, and notes the fence hook. The listing’s numbers differ from the reviewer’s: bepickleballer gives 12.2 x 7.8 x 18.5 inches and “Oxford cloth construction,” while the Amazon listing says the main compartment is 12.6 x 7.8 x 18.5 inches and the fabric is high-density 900D polyester. Because the reviewer’s size differs from the listing’s, this is same-series evidence.

HAMBOLY has no website that we could find, so the facts come from its own Amazon listing. The linked listing is Dark Grey + Light Grey in the 35 L size, sold by HAMBOLY and shipped by Amazon. bepickleballer’s own links open the Dark Grey + Blue colour of the same listing family (B0D8LFLM3S).

Specs (Large backpack, Dark Grey + Light Grey, 35 L, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: not published
  • Compartments: ventilated front shoe compartment, insulated front pocket, wet/dry compartment, padded paddle and ball pockets, side pockets (listing)
  • Dimensions: main compartment 12.6 in x 7.8 in x 18.5 in; volume 35 L (listing)
  • Material: high-density water-resistant 900D polyester (listing)
  • Extras: fence hook, side charging cable port (listing)

Pros

  • Ventilated shoe compartment, insulated front pocket and a separate wet/dry compartment
  • 35 L backpack with a fence hook and a charging cable port
  • Padded pockets for paddles and balls

Cons

  • No paddle count anywhere in the listing
  • Reviewer and listing differ on dimensions and fabric
  • No brand site that we could find, so the listing is the only maker source

CRBN Pro Sling

Page multiple

Players who carry a paddle or two and a pair of shoes and want a sling with thermal-lined pockets.

$59.99 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A sling with a thermal-lined main compartment and thermal-lined side pockets. Matt’s Pickleball lists it under “Best sling bag (travel light)” and says capacity is the trade-off; r/Pickleball owners disagree about how much it holds.

Evidence: No independent test; owner reports. r/Pickleball owner thread: CRBN Pro Team Sling Bag (colour not stated).

Matt’s Pickleball writes: “One paddle, a pair of shoes, a couple of balls, and the essentials.” and “The tradeoff is capacity.” On r/Pickleball, one owner writes: “I have this. Does what it needs to for me. I carry 2-3 paddles and a few balls w/o a prob.” Another commenter writes: “Good concept but to small, not much room to hold paddles, water, and glasses.” The paddle count differs by source: CRBN’s page says the interior carries “multiple paddles” and gives no number, while the Amazon listing’s highlight says “Paddle Holder for 3 Paddles.” CRBN lists a water-resistant outer shell, thermal-lined expandable side pockets, a fence hook that tucks into its own pouch, YKK zippers and room for a laptop up to 14 inches. Amazon’s own item-dimension field (19 x 12.5 x 7.5 in) differs from CRBN’s 20 x 11 x 5.5 in; we print the maker’s.

The linked listing is the Black colour, sold by CRBN’s Amazon storefront and shipped by Amazon.

Specs (Pro Team Sling Bag, Black, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: page says “multiple paddles,” listing says 3; Matt’s Pickleball’s example is one paddle with shoes and a couple of balls
  • Compartments: thermal-lined main compartment, 2 thermal-lined expandable side pockets (maker)
  • Dimensions: 20 in x 11 in x 5.5 in; net weight 1 lb 15 oz (maker)
  • Material: water-resistant outer shell (maker); fabric not published
  • Extras: fence hook in its own pouch; fits a laptop up to 14 inches (maker)

Pros

  • Thermal-lined main compartment and thermal-lined expandable side pockets
  • Concealed fence hook that tucks into its own pouch
  • Reversible sling orientation, by the maker’s description

Cons

  • Limited capacity, which Matt’s Pickleball names as the trade-off and one r/Pickleball commenter calls too small
  • The paddle count differs between CRBN’s page and the Amazon listing
  • Fabric is not published

Franklin sling

Maker 6

Players who bike or take transit to the courts and carry a couple of paddles and a few balls.

$24.99 from AmazonAs of Oct 23, 18:42 UTC

Verdict

A sling from Franklin Sports that Pickleheads labels “Best compact.” Franklin says it holds six paddles; Pickleheads says two or three, and notes that Franklin elsewhere says three.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, exact model. Pickleheads: Franklin Sports Pickleball Bag (sling); Pickleheads links the Black/Green colour, we link Gray.

Pickleheads writes: “The Franklin Sports bag is the compact bag option because it’s lightweight, comfortable, easy to travel with, and fits a surprising amount in for its size.” Franklin’s page says the bag “can hold 6 paddles securely and 6 X-Performance 40 official pickleballs with room to spare,” and the Amazon listing repeats “up to 6 paddles.” Pickleheads writes “I can fit two paddles comfortably alongside two cans of pickleball balls. If you have fewer extras, you can fit three paddles,” and adds a note: “while the Amazon listing claims it can fit six paddles, this must be a typo as elsewhere Franklin says it fits three paddles.” It also says the Franklin “doesn’t offer as much water resistance as the Mangrove Pickleball Sling Bag.” Dimensions come from the Amazon listing, because Franklin’s page gives none.

Pickleheads linked the Black/Green colour of this Franklin listing; we link the Gray colour of the same listing. It is sold by Amazon.com.

Specs (Pickleball-X Elite Performance sling bag, Gray, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: 6 (maker); Pickleheads’ reviewer fits 2 paddles with two cans of balls, or 3 with fewer extras
  • Compartments: 3 pockets, felt-lined phone pocket (maker; Pickleheads)
  • Dimensions: 18.5 in x 13 in x 8 in (Amazon listing; Pickleheads’ table agrees)
  • Material: polyester (Amazon listing)
  • Extras: fence hook, adjustable strap (maker)

Pros

  • Compact sling with a fence hook and a felt-lined pocket for a phone
  • Labelled “Best compact” by Pickleheads, whose reviewer calls it a comfy, compact sling
  • Reversible strap with a quick-release buckle, by Pickleheads’ account

Cons

  • The six-paddle claim is disputed by Pickleheads’ reviewer
  • Less water-resistant than the Mangrove, per Pickleheads

Verdict

A water-resistant sling with five pockets and a fence hook. Pickleheads says its main compartment easily holds two paddles; the listing gives no paddle count.

Evidence: Independently reviewed, exact model. Pickleheads: Mangrove Pickleball Bag (the ASIN Pickleheads links).

Pickleheads writes: “For a compact, affordable bag, the Mangrove has plenty of useful storage space.” Its table lists paddle space as 2-3, weight 1.1 lb and dimensions of 19.3 x 15 x 7.7 inches, and its review adds that “the main compartment easily holds two paddles and a few pickleball balls.” The listing names a large main compartment, an extra-large secondary pocket, a felt-lined front pocket, a deep side pocket and a back security pocket, and lists the fabric as 100% polyester, where Pickleheads writes “600D polyester.”

Mangrove has no site we could find, so the facts come from its Amazon listing; kinzd.com also sells the bag (vendor “AMAS”), and we could not confirm its relationship to Mangrove. The linked listing is the Green colour in the Large size, sold by MANGROVE Direct and shipped by Amazon.

Specs (Large, Green, the linked listing)

  • Paddle capacity: not published; Pickleheads’ reviewer fits two in the main compartment
  • Compartments: large main compartment, XL secondary pocket, felt-lined front pocket, deep side pocket, back security pocket (listing)
  • Dimensions: 15 in x 7.7 in x 19.3 in (listing); weight 1.1 lb (Pickleheads)
  • Material: 100% polyester, water-resistant (listing)
  • Extras: fence hook, reversible strap (listing)

Pros

  • Five pockets, including a felt-lined front pocket and a security pocket
  • Water-resistant polyester and a reversible shoulder strap
  • The same listing Pickleheads reviewed

Cons

  • No paddle count in the listing
  • Compact: Pickleheads says to look at larger bags for tournament storage
  • No maker site that we could find (kinzd.com sells the bag, relationship unconfirmed), so one listing is the only maker source

What to Look For in a Pickleball Bag

Paddle capacity, as the maker counts it. The makers here count in different ways. CRBN and Six Zero state pockets of three; HEAD counts “racquets” on its own page; JOOLA gives a count only on Amazon; HAMBOLY and Mangrove give none. Where Pickleheads tried the Selkirk and Franklin bags it found two or three paddles fit with other gear, not the six the makers state, and for the Selkirk it says six “might be able to” fit “with nothing else in the bag,” so treat a maker’s maximum with caution.

Compartments. A separate shoe compartment appears on the CRBN Tour, Six Zero, JOOLA, HEAD and HAMBOLY bags. If you also want to know what goes in it, our guide to pickleball shoes covers them. An insulated or cooler pocket is listed on the Six Zero, the CRBN Tour, and the HAMBOLY.

Size and volume. Only some makers print a volume: Six Zero 60 L, JOOLA and HEAD 45 L, HAMBOLY 35 L. The others give dimensions only, or not even those. Pickleheads describes duffles as large enough for everything but “bulky and difficult to carry around for long periods,” slings as easier to move around but they “don’t have as much room or as many compartments as a regular backpack,” and backpacks as having “plenty of space and compartments.”

Materials and weather. Makers describe vegan leather and tarpaulin (Six Zero), polyfiber (Selkirk), 900D polyester (HAMBOLY) and polyester and TPU (HEAD). CRBN and Mangrove say water-resistant or weatherproof without a rating. We found no independent water test for any of them.

Fence hooks and extras. Eight of the nine list a fence hook or hanging hook in the maker’s or the listing’s text; Pickleheads says the Selkirk Day Bag has none. If you carry balls in the bag, our guide to pickleball balls covers the types.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Which pickleball bag should I buy?

Start with how many paddles you carry and whether you need shoes in the bag. For several paddles, shoes and clothes, see reviews 1 to 4. For a backpack with a laptop sleeve, see review 5; for a sling, see reviews 7 to 9. The table above lists each bag’s capacity, compartments, size and material.

Q. How many paddles does a pickleball bag hold?

It depends on the bag and on what else is in it. CRBN and Six Zero state six paddles, three in each of two side pockets. HEAD’s page counts up to six “racquets,” and the CRBN sling’s page says only “multiple” paddles, with its listing saying three. Selkirk and Franklin state six, but Pickleheads’ reviewer found two or three fit comfortably with other gear. JOOLA’s Amazon listing says four, and HAMBOLY and Mangrove state no count.

Q. Do I need a shoe compartment?

It is a preference, not a requirement. Five of the nine picks list a dedicated shoe compartment (the CRBN Tour, Six Zero, JOOLA, HEAD and HAMBOLY). The other four list none; Matt’s Pickleball’s sling example carries a pair of shoes.

Q. Which kind of bag suits me, sling, backpack or duffle?

Pickleheads describes the three types this way: duffles fit everything but can be bulky, slings are easy to move around in but have less room, and backpacks have plenty of space and compartments. The picks here include three convertible duffle-backpacks (the CRBN Tour, Six Zero and JOOLA), two backpacks (Selkirk and HAMBOLY), three slings and the HEAD.

Q. Can I just use an ordinary backpack?

Some owners do. The highest-scored comment in the r/Pickleball bag thread says a big ordinary backpack fits 4 paddles, 6 balls and more, and that they “dont see a need to pay big money for a name brand.” A pickleball bag adds features such as paddle sleeves, a shoe compartment and a fence hook, which is what the picks here are compared on. Our guide to pickleball paddle bags covers backpacks, slings and totes built around paddle capacity.

Q. What else should I pack?

That is a personal list. For clothes and layers to bring, see our guide on what to wear for pickleball; for paddles to put in the bag, see our pickleball paddle comparison. For paddle covers, see our guide to pickleball paddle covers.

Q. Do thermal-lined pockets matter?

CRBN, Six Zero, JOOLA and HEAD all describe thermal or climate-control lining. JOOLA’s page says its compartments protect paddles from heat and moisture; HEAD’s page says CCT+ protects racquets from extreme temperatures, while HEAD’s Amazon listing says the compartment shields a phone, wallet, keys and electronics. We found no independent measurement of any of these linings, so the claims here are the makers’.

The bottom line

Final Verdict

If you carry several paddles and want one bag for a tournament day, the CRBN Pro Team Tour Bag 2.0 (check price) and the Six Zero Pro Tour Bag both state six paddles in two side pockets, with a shoe compartment and a cooler pocket; the JOOLA Tour Elite is the convertible duffle, with its paddle count given only on its Amazon listing, and the HEAD Pro rests on the maker’s page alone. For a compact backpack, the Selkirk Core Line Day Bag (check price) is a light day pack, with Pickleheads’ reviewer fitting two or three paddles; the HAMBOLY adds a shoe compartment and a cooler pocket but gives no paddle count. For a sling, the CRBN Pro Team Sling, the Franklin Sports sling and the Mangrove are the three, with Franklin’s six-paddle claim disputed by Pickleheads. Whatever you pick, check the paddle count and the seller on the listing before you buy.
