The short answer
The K-Swiss Men’s Hypercourt Express 3 has what K-Swiss calls a “new surgelite+ midsole” and a men’s 2E version; the Skechers Men’s Viper Court Rally is a pickleball shoe with a “Lightweight Move Foam™ cushioned insole”, sold in Medium and Extra Wide; and the Diadora Men’s Blushield Torneo 3 AG is the shoe Rackets & Runners, a retailer that sells it, ranked first in its list of the most comfortable shoes for pickleball.
Our verdict
Our Top Picks: Cushioned Pickleball Shoes
“Cushioned” on a court shoe can mean a named foam in the midsole, a cushioned insole on top of it, or both. This guide compares ten pickleball and court shoes whose makers describe their cushioning on their own product pages, and quotes each maker’s words: K-Swiss’s Surgelite and K-EVA midsoles, Skechers’ Move Foam insole, Diadora’s Blushield, Wilson’s dual-density midsole, Diadem’s Flo Foam and Babolat’s KPRSX system among them. For each shoe we list the widths and sizes the maker sells, the court type and outsole as the maker states them, and a weight only where a source gives it with the size it was measured at.
Every pick was new and in stock on Amazon when we checked on October 24, 2026, and each review names the exact gender, size and colour we link. No maker publishes a softness figure that compares across brands, so this guide sorts the shoes by the cushioning feature each maker names, not by how soft they feel.

The cushioning words are the maker’s own. Widths are listed as the maker names them. Court type is as the maker states it, or as the maker’s Amazon listing states it where the product page names none. Weight is per shoe, for the size and from the source shown; the sources weigh different sizes, so the figures are not a ranking, and “not published” means no maker or retailer page we read gives a figure with a size.

Which cushioned shoe for which player
- Men who want a cushioned tennis-and-pickleball shoe with a 2E option: K-Swiss Men’s Hypercourt Express 3, whose Surgelite+ midsole a Tennis Warehouse tester singled out.
- Players who want a cushioned insole and an Extra Wide size: Skechers Men’s Viper Court Rally, with Skechers’ Move Foam insole and Relaxed Fit.
- Players who also play tennis on hard and clay courts: Diadora Men’s Blushield Torneo 3 AG or Wilson Men’s Rush Pro 5, both all-court tennis shoes their makers describe with named midsole cushioning. Our guide on whether you can wear tennis shoes for pickleball covers the trade-offs.
- Recreational pickleball players: K-Swiss Men’s Ultrashot Light 2, which K-Swiss calls “an approachable choice for recreational pickleball players”, or the Diadem Court Flo, a unisex shoe WearTesters’ reviewer thought suits doubles.
- Women who want a pickleball shoe that also works off the court: K-Swiss Women’s Tura Team, with what K-Swiss calls an “elevated midsole” for court play and casual wear, or Tyrol Women’s Smash for indoor and outdoor courts.
- Players who want a pickleball-specific shoe with a named cushioning system: Babolat Men’s Jet Mach Pickleball, with Babolat’s KPRSX system.
- Newer players on a budget: K-Swiss Women’s SpeedEx 2, which K-Swiss says “is built for new players”.
Picks: K-Swiss Men’s Hypercourt Express 3, Skechers Men’s Viper Court Rally, Diadora Men’s Blushield Torneo 3 AG, K-Swiss Men’s Ultrashot Light 2, K-Swiss Women’s Tura Team, Wilson Men’s Rush Pro 5, Diadem Court Flo, Babolat Men’s Jet Mach Pickleball, Tyrol Women’s Smash, K-Swiss Women’s SpeedEx 2.
Midsole foam or cushioned insole: what the makers name
The makers in this guide put their cushioning in two places. Most name a foam in the midsole, the layer between the outsole and the upper: K-Swiss’s Surgelite, Surgelite+ and K-EVA, Diadora’s Blushield with a Light E.V.A. compound, Wilson’s dual-density midsole, Diadem’s Flo Foam and Babolat’s KPRSX system. Two lead with the insole instead: Skechers names a Move Foam cushioned insole in the Viper Court Rally and no midsole foam on its page, and Tyrol describes a removable polyurethane insole with a Nylex top layer over an EVA midsole. Wilson names both, a dual-density midsole and a “premium supercompressed sockliner”.
A removable insole can be swapped for one you prefer; a midsole foam is built into the shoe. Neither kind comes with a softness figure that compares across brands, and the only midsole figure on the makers’ pages we read is Babolat’s 10 mm drop for the Jet Mach Pickleball. So this guide does not rank the shoes by how soft they are. Testers and retailers do describe how some of them feel, and each review sets that beside the maker’s words; where they differ, both are given.
How we picked the cushioned shoes
How this guide was built
built from manufacturer documentation, published third-party reviews and owner reports; we have not tested these products ourselves.
What each shoe had to show
- The maker’s own cushioning words. Each pick’s maker names a cushioning midsole foam, a cushioning system or a cushioned insole on its own product page, quoted in the review. A retailer or tester calling a shoe “cushioned” was not enough on its own.
- A pickleball or court shoe. Shoes made for pickleball, or tennis and court shoes their makers sell for hard or all courts; no running or walking shoes.
- On Amazon, new, in stock, at or below the maker’s regular price. Amazon.com held two of the offers, the K-Swiss storefront three and Diadem’s storefront one; the other four were held by other sellers, named in their reviews. The seller can change.
- Widths and sizes as the maker lists them. Read on the makers’ sites on October 24, 2026.
- Weight only with its size and source. We do not compare the shoes by weight.
- No body or health claims. Several maker and retailer pages tie their cushioning to the body; we quote only the feature.
- No repeats of our live shoe roundups. None of the ten shoes we link is a pick in another live guide on this site.
Where the cushioning evidence comes from and what r/Pickleball players said about cushioned shoes
Where the cushioning evidence comes from
Each review has an evidence line. “Same series” means an independent publication tested the model but in a different or unstated size from the one we link: WearTesters’ Court Flo review and Pickleball Union’s Jet Mach Pickleball review. “Retailer review” means a shop that sells the shoe wrote it: Tennis Warehouse’s Hypercourt Express 3 playtest, Pickleball Warehouse’s Tura Team page and the Rackets & Runners list of the most comfortable shoes for pickleball (June 3, 2026). “Owner reports” means forum posts. “Maker specs” means we found no independent test. Retailer weights come from Tennis Warehouse and Pickleball Warehouse product pages and are labelled as such.
What r/Pickleball players said about cushioned shoes
In an r/Pickleball thread titled “Best cushioned shoes”, one player named the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express: “I find the Kswiss Hypercourt Express are cushier than most with good support.” Another recommended the Skechers Viper Court Reload, which is not in this guide. Several replies in a second thread warned against playing in running shoes and pointed to court or basketball shoes instead. These are individual reports about earlier or different models, so the reviews below set the makers’ claims first.
Detailed Reviews
K-Swiss Men’s Hypercourt Express 3, Surgelite+ midsole
A man who plays tennis and pickleball on hard courts and wants a cushioned shoe with a 2E option.
$130.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCK-Swiss’s Hypercourt Express 3 page says: “With its new surgelite+ midsole, this update becomes even more comfortable and more stable with no break-in time needed.” It lists a CMEVA midsole and a rubber outsole, and calls the fit “generous” in the forefoot. The K-Swiss storefront’s Amazon listing says the shoe is built for hard court play; K-Swiss’s product page names no court type, and K-Swiss sells separate Clay and Indoor versions.
Widths and sizes on kswiss.com (October 24, 2026): men’s M in 7 to 14, men’s 2E as the “Hypercourt Express 3 2E”, and women’s M and Wide.
Why it suits cushioning, and where sources differ: the Surgelite+ midsole is K-Swiss’s own named feature. In Tennis Warehouse’s men’s playtest, a retailer review, tester Jason wrote: “The slightly wider fit with great underfoot cushioning stood out the most to me.” The same playtest says: “The weight of the Hypercourt Express 3s definitely came in on the heavier side, but for the most part our team felt like that weight went to good use.” Tester Mark wrote: “The low 15-ounce weight for size 10.5 Hypercourt Express 3s is right where I like it to be.” K-Swiss publishes no weight. Its predecessor, the Hypercourt Express 2, is in our women’s pickleball shoes guide. The K-Swiss storefront sold the men’s 10 M we link.
Verdict
A tennis shoe K-Swiss built on a new Surgelite+ midsole, with a men’s 2E version; a retailer’s testers praised the cushioning.
Evidence: Retailer review (sells it), not independent. Tennis Warehouse (men’s playtest): men’s Hypercourt Express 3, size not stated for this tester.

- Weight: about 15 oz, men’s 10.5 (Tennis Warehouse tester); K-Swiss publishes none

Pros

Who should buy it
A man who plays tennis and pickleball on hard courts and wants a cushioned shoe with a 2E option.
Skechers Men’s Viper Court Rally, Move Foam insole
A player who wants a cushioned-insole pickleball shoe on a budget, in Medium or Extra Wide.
$60.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCSkechers’ Viper Court Rally page describes “a lightweight Skechers Move Foam™ insole” and lists a “Lightweight Move Foam™ cushioned insole for added comfort”. The page names no midsole foam, so in this guide the Rally’s cushioning is insole-led. Skechers says the “Goodyear® Gold compound non-marking outsole” is “built for increased durability to allow the elite player to perform controlled slides specifically on the court surface”, lists its Relaxed Fit®, which Skechers describes as roomy at the toe and forefoot, and its Amazon listing calls the design “Padel friendly”.
Skechers’ men’s page offers the Rally in Medium and Extra Wide, sizes 7 to 13 (October 24, 2026).
Why it suits cushioning: the Move Foam insole is the cushioning Skechers names. In an r/Pickleball thread comparing the Rally with an adidas shoe, one player who owns the Rally and the Viper Court Pro 2.0 wrote: “Very comfortable and it is lightweight.” Another commenter wrote that “the viper rally has great cushioning and the grip really holds up well on indoor courts”. These are single comments, and we found no independent test. Amazon.com sold the men’s 11 we link.
Verdict
A Relaxed Fit pickleball shoe whose cushioning is a Move Foam insole, sold in Medium and Extra Wide; the evidence is the maker’s description and owner comments.
Evidence: No independent test; owner reports. r/Pickleball: Viper Court Rally, gender, width and size not stated.

Who should buy it

Diadora Men’s Blushield Torneo 3 AG, Blushield midsole
A man who plays pickleball and tennis on hard or clay courts and wants Blushield cushioning in a low-profile shoe.
$149.99 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCDiadora’s Blushield Torneo 3 AG page says the shoe “features Blushield technology in the midsole”; its midsole spec lists lightweight EVA with the Blushield part under the forefoot and Diadora’s CCB stabilizer. Diadora describes its Light E.V.A. as a “Special compound that allows to reduce the weight of the midsole by 10-15% compared to a traditional one keeping unchanged the characteristics of cushioning and reactivity.” The insole is removable. The outsole is “Rubber with special wear-resistant Duratech 5000 compound. Sole for hard terrains and/or clay court”, and the recommended surface is “All ground”, with cement and indoor synthetic courts rated “Ideal option”.
Diadora’s page shows men’s US sizes 7 to 14.5 with no width option, and a weight of “425 gr (+/- 3%) – size 9 UK” (October 24, 2026).
Why it suits cushioning, and where sources differ: Blushield is Diadora’s named midsole technology. Rackets & Runners, a retailer that sells the shoe, ranked it first in its June 2026 list: “The Diadora Torneo 3 takes the number one spot as the most comfortable pickleball shoe on the market.” Rackets & Runners credits that comfort mainly to the upper: “What makes the Torneo 3 so comfortable is its buttery-soft upper material.” The same page notes it has “a fairly low stack” and calls its cushioning minimal but plush. In Tennis Warehouse’s women’s playtest, also a retailer, of the women’s model, the testers praised the Blushield cushioning but found their feet shifting in the mesh upper. Midwest Racquet Sports held the offer for the men’s 8 we link when we checked; Tennis Express also held it that day.
Verdict
An all-ground tennis shoe with Blushield in the midsole, ranked first for comfort by one retailer that also calls its stack fairly low.
Evidence: Retailer review (sells it), not independent. Rackets & Runners (June 2026 comfort list): Torneo 3 AG, gender and size not stated.
Specs (men’s 8, White/Silver)
- Cushioning: “Blushield technology in the midsole”; Light E.V.A.; removable insole (Diadora)
- Widths: one width
- Sizes: men’s 7 to 14.5 (Diadora, October 24, 2026)
- Court: all ground; hard and clay (Diadora)
- Weight: 425 g (+/- 3%), UK 9 (Diadora)
- Outsole: Duratech 5000 rubber compound (Diadora)
Pros
- Blushield technology in the midsole, in Diadora’s own words
- Ranked first for comfort in a retailer’s June 2026 list
- Rated for cement, indoor, clay and grass courts by Diadora
- Diadora publishes a weight with its size
Cons
- The same retailer calls its stack fairly low
- Tennis Warehouse’s women’s testers found the upper let their feet shift
- Sold by a racquet retailer, not Diadora or Amazon.com
Who should buy it
A man who plays pickleball and tennis on hard or clay courts and wants Blushield cushioning in a low-profile shoe.
K-Swiss Men’s Ultrashot Light 2, Surgelite EVA, pickleball
A recreational pickleball player who wants a pickleball shoe with K-Swiss's Surgelite cushioning.
$85.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCK-Swiss’s Ultrashot Light 2 page says: “A Surgelite EVA midsole provides lightweight cushioning underfoot, while the rubber outsole delivers dependable traction on court.” It calls the shoe “an approachable choice for recreational pickleball players” and lists a foam sock liner. The K-Swiss storefront’s Amazon listing says the Surgelite cushioning is “approximately 20% lighter than traditional midsoles” and names a DragGuard rubber outsole for hard court play; the product page names neither DragGuard nor a court type.
K-Swiss lists men’s sizes 6.5 to 14 in one width, M (October 24, 2026).
Why it suits cushioning: the Surgelite EVA midsole is K-Swiss’s own named feature, on a shoe it pitches at recreational pickleball. We found no independent test of it, so the evidence is the maker’s description only. Its predecessor, the Ultrashot Light Pickleball, is in our men’s pickleball shoes and pickleball shoes guides. The K-Swiss storefront sold the men’s 11 we link, at K-Swiss’s regular price.
Verdict
A recreational pickleball shoe on a Surgelite EVA midsole; maker specs only so far.
Evidence: No independent test; maker specs. Source: K-Swiss.
Specs (men’s 11, Black)
- Cushioning: “A Surgelite EVA midsole provides lightweight cushioning underfoot”; foam sock liner (K-Swiss)
- Widths: men’s M

- Weight: not published
- Outsole: rubber (K-Swiss); DragGuard rubber (K-Swiss Amazon listing)
Pros
- A Surgelite EVA midsole in K-Swiss’s own description
- Built for recreational pickleball, per K-Swiss
- Sold by the K-Swiss storefront
Cons
- No independent test found; maker specs only
- One width, M
- No weight published
Who should buy it

K-Swiss Women’s Tura Team, Elevated midsole
women's 8.5 M · Pickleball court
A woman who wants a cushioned pickleball shoe she can also wear off the court.
$57.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCK-Swiss’s Tura Team page says: “Its elevated midsole offers ample cushioning for both court play and casual wear.” K-Swiss lists an IMEVA midsole, a molded EVA sock liner and a rubber outsole, and says that with DuraWrap in the toebox “it’s built for durability and stability on a Pickleball court”.
Sources differ on the midsole foam. K-Swiss’s page lists “IMEVA Midsole”, while the K-Swiss storefront’s Amazon listing and Pickleball Warehouse, a retailer, both name a Surgelite midsole. We give both.
K-Swiss lists women’s sizes 5 to 11 in M (October 24, 2026), with a men’s version sold separately.
Why it suits cushioning: the elevated midsole and “ample cushioning” are K-Swiss’s words. Pickleball Warehouse’s Tura Team page, a retailer that sells it, describes a “Surgelite midsole for cushion and support under foot allowing you to feel connected to the court” and a “Non-marking Dragguard 7.0 rubber outsole in a modified herringbone tread pattern”, and lists 12.45 oz for a men’s 10.5; it gives no women’s weight. We found no independent test. The K-Swiss storefront held the offer for the women’s 8.5 M we link when we checked; Tennis Warehouse also held it that day.
Verdict
A street-styled pickleball shoe with an elevated, cushioned midsole; the midsole foam is named differently by K-Swiss and by retailers.
Evidence: Retailer review (sells it), not independent. Pickleball Warehouse: Tura Team, size not stated.
Specs (women’s 8.5 M, White/Faded Denim/Dubarry)
- Cushioning: “elevated midsole offers ample cushioning”; IMEVA midsole (K-Swiss); Surgelite (K-Swiss Amazon listing, Pickleball Warehouse)
- Widths: women’s M
- Sizes: women’s 5 to 11 (K-Swiss, October 24, 2026)
- Court: “a Pickleball court” (K-Swiss)
- Weight: 12.45 oz, men’s 10.5 (Pickleball Warehouse); no women’s weight published
- Outsole: rubber (K-Swiss); Dragguard 7.0 (Pickleball Warehouse)
Pros
- An elevated, cushioned midsole for court play and casual wear, per K-Swiss
- Built for a pickleball court, per K-Swiss
- Sold by the K-Swiss storefront when we checked
Cons
- K-Swiss and retailers name the midsole foam differently
- No independent test found; the review we cite is from a retailer
- One width, M
Who should buy it
A woman who wants a cushioned pickleball shoe she can also wear off the court.
Wilson Men’s Rush Pro 5, Dual-density midsole
A man who plays tennis and pickleball on all courts and wants two named cushioning layers.
$156.97 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCWilson’s Rush Pro 5 page names two cushioning layers: a “Dual density midsole” that Wilson says “delivers quick rebounds”, and a “premium supercompressed sockliner” that it says cushions footwork through long, intense play. It lists “a Duralast high-abrasion rubber outsole” for traction and “All-Court Durability”, and Wilson’s Amazon listing adds a ceramic-infused overlay for slides and a TPU stability chassis.
Wilson lists men’s sizes 7 to 14 with no width option (October 24, 2026). Tennis Warehouse, a retailer, lists 14.4 oz for a US 10.5; Wilson publishes no weight.
Why it suits cushioning: Wilson names two cushioning layers, the dual-density midsole and the supercompressed sockliner. Rackets & Runners, a retailer that sells it, put it sixth in its list of comfortable shoes for pickleball: “At number six we have the Wilson Rush Pro 5; a shoe that nails the comfort-to-security ratio.” It also gave a reason it ranked no higher: “There are two reasons it only comes in at number six, starting with the fact that it is quite snug.” The page notes there is no women’s version. Amazon.com sold the men’s 10 we link, below Wilson’s regular price.
Verdict
An all-court tennis shoe with a dual-density midsole and a cushioning sockliner; one retailer ranks it for comfort and calls the fit quite snug.
Evidence: Retailer review (sells it), not independent. Rackets & Runners (June 2026 comfort list): Rush Pro 5, size not stated.
Specs (men’s 10, White/White/White)
- Cushioning: “Dual density midsole”; “premium supercompressed sockliner” (Wilson)
- Widths: one width
- Sizes: men’s 7 to 14 (Wilson, October 24, 2026)
- Court: all court (Wilson)
- Weight: 14.4 oz, US 10.5 (Tennis Warehouse); Wilson publishes none
- Outsole: Duralast high-abrasion rubber (Wilson)
Pros
- A dual-density midsole and a supercompressed sockliner, in Wilson’s own words
- Ranked for comfort in a retailer’s list of shoes for pickleball

Cons

- Men’s only, per that retailer
Who should buy it
A man who plays tennis and pickleball on all courts and wants two named cushioning layers.
Diadem Court Flo, Flo Foam, unisex
women's 10 / men's 8.5 · Indoor and outdoor
A doubles player who wants a cushioned, unisex shoe for pickleball and tennis.
$99.95 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCDiadem’s Court Flo page says: “The core of the shoe boasts our Flo Foam Midsole and durable outsole giving players long-lasting comfort.” Diadem describes an Airweave mesh upper and an EndoShell toecap and says the shoe “is built for on-court and off-court performance”. Diadem’s Amazon listing says the outsole’s “High-abrasion carbon rubber compound delivers long-lasting traction on indoor and outdoor courts.”
Diadem sells the Court Flo as one unisex shoe, from men’s 3.5 / women’s 5 to men’s 14 / women’s 15.5, with no width option (October 24, 2026). Neither Diadem nor Pickleball Warehouse publishes a weight.
Why it suits cushioning, and where sources differ: Flo Foam is Diadem’s named midsole. WearTesters’ Jalique Gabay, who tested a pair Diadem sent (size and colour not stated), wrote: “Compared to the Court Burst, the Court Flo uses a typical EVA midsole that offers a little more cushion in exchange for a little less court feel.” So the tester calls the foam typical EVA where Diadem calls it Flo Foam. The tester also wrote: “I would prefer a little more width in the toe box for toe splay.” Diadem’s own storefront sold the women’s 10 / men’s 8.5 we link, below Diadem’s regular price.
Verdict
A unisex pickleball and tennis shoe with a Flo Foam midsole; an independent tester found a little more cushion than Diadem’s Court Burst and wanted more toe width.
Evidence: Independently reviewed, same series. WearTesters (Jalique Gabay): Court Flo, size and colour not stated.

- Sold by Diadem’s own storefront
Cons

- The tested size is not stated

Babolat Men’s Jet Mach Pickleball, KPRSX cushioning
A man who wants a pickleball-specific shoe with a named cushioning system and will check the two fit notes against their own foot.
$104.30 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCBabolat’s Jet Mach Pickleball page says: “The KPRSX system provides optimum comfort and cushioning.” It lists a molded OrthoLite insole, a Michelin premium outsole, a 10 mm drop, a “Standard” fit and the surface type “All Court”. Babolat’s Amazon listing names the outsole as “Michelin Original” instead, and says “This shoe runs narrow: Recommended to order half a size up”.
Babolat’s men’s page showed US sizes 6 to 12.5 and 13.5 (October 24, 2026). Babolat lists a weight of 325 g without naming a size; Pickleball Union lists 13.7 oz for a size 12 in its spec table and 13.45 oz for a size 12 in its comparison table.
Why it suits cushioning, and where sources differ: KPRSX is Babolat’s named cushioning system. Pickleball Union’s tester, in a size 12 (we link a 10.5), wrote: “The cushioning was right where it should be: supportive without being squishy.” They also wrote the shoes were “Comfortable, light, and with decent energy return—though not quite as snug or springy as the Diadems.” Babolat’s Amazon listing says the shoe runs narrow, while Babolat’s page calls the fit standard. The same tester found the fit “true to size—neither too narrow and nor too wide”. RacquetGalaxy, a racquet-sports retailer, sold the men’s 10.5 we link, below Babolat’s regular price.
Verdict
A pickleball-specific shoe on Babolat’s KPRSX cushioning system; one tester found the cushioning supportive rather than squishy.
Evidence: Independently reviewed, same series. Pickleball Union: men’s Jet Mach Pickleball, size 12.
Specs (men’s 10.5, Pink/Black)
- Cushioning: “The KPRSX system provides optimum comfort and cushioning.”; OrthoLite insole (Babolat)
- Widths: standard fit (Babolat); Babolat’s Amazon listing says it runs narrow; Pickleball Union’s tester found it true to size

- Court: All Court (Babolat)
- Weight: 13.7 oz, size 12 (Pickleball Union); Babolat lists 325 g with no size
- Outsole: Michelin premium (Babolat page); Michelin Original (Babolat Amazon listing)
Pros
- Babolat’s KPRSX cushioning system on a shoe built for pickleball
- A tester found the cushioning “supportive without being squishy”
- Babolat publishes a 10 mm drop
- Michelin rubber outsole
Cons
- Fit notes differ: Babolat’s Amazon listing says it runs narrow; Pickleball Union found it true to size
- The tested pair was a size 12, not the 10.5 we link

Tyrol Women’s Smash, PU insole, any court
women's 7 · Outdoor and indoor
A woman who plays on both indoor and outdoor courts and wants a cushioned insole she can take out.
$139.95 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCTyrol’s Smash page describes a removable insole with “a Polyurethane base with Nylex top layer” over an EVA midsole, which Tyrol fits “for comfort and performance”, and names a “cushioned insole” among its comfort features. Tyrol says “The Smash model is constructed on our medium fit last.” Its “Tyrol Multi-Surface Rubber Outsole” was “Developed in our labs to perform on both Outdoor silica grit treated, and smooth indoor playing surfaces.” The page calls the tread a chevron design, while the product description calls it a herringbone tread.
Tyrol lists women’s sizes 5 to 11.5 on its medium fit last (October 24, 2026), and publishes no weight with a size.
Why it suits cushioning: the cushioned polyurethane insole is Tyrol’s own named feature, on top of an EVA midsole. We found no independent test of the Smash, so the evidence is the maker’s description only. Tyrol’s Amazon listing says this shoe is “slightly narrower than our other Tyrol models”. Charm City Run, a running-shoe retailer, sold the women’s 7 we link, at Tyrol’s list price.
Verdict
A pickleball shoe with a cushioned, removable polyurethane insole and an outsole Tyrol made for indoor and outdoor courts; maker specs only.

K-Swiss Women’s SpeedEx 2, K-EVA, new players
A woman new to court sports who wants a cushioned shoe at an entry-level price.
$69.95 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 19:42 UTCK-Swiss’s SpeedEx 2 page says: “The SpeedEx 2 is built for new players, featuring a cushioned K-EVA midsole for comfort and an Aosta 7.0 outsole with herringbone pattern for balanced grip and slide.” The Amazon listing we link says the K-EVA midsole is a “Special formula to provide maximized cushioning”. K-Swiss lists a die-cut sockliner, while the Amazon listing names an OrthoLite sock liner. K-Swiss names no court type; the Amazon title calls it a tennis shoe, and K-Swiss sells separate padel versions.
K-Swiss lists women’s sizes 5 to 11 in M (October 24, 2026). No weight is published.
Why it suits cushioning: the cushioned K-EVA midsole is K-Swiss’s own named feature, on a shoe it pitches at new players. We found no independent test, so the evidence is the maker’s description only. Tennis Warehouse, a racquet retailer, sold the women’s 8 in Luminary Green we link, below K-Swiss’s regular price.

Checks before you buy a cushioned court shoe
- Find out where the cushioning is. A named midsole foam (K-Swiss, Diadora, Wilson, Diadem, Babolat) is built in; a cushioned insole (Skechers, Tyrol) can be taken out and swapped. The comparison table quotes what each maker names.
- Read tester and retailer notes beside the maker’s words. Rackets & Runners calls the Diadora Torneo 3’s stack fairly low, and WearTesters’ reviewer calls the Court Flo’s foam a typical EVA.
- Check the fit notes. Babolat’s Amazon listing says the Jet Mach Pickleball runs narrow, while Pickleball Union’s tester found it true to size in a size 12; Rackets & Runners calls the Wilson Rush Pro 5 quite snug, and Tyrol says the Smash is slightly narrower than its other models. For how makers describe the way a shoe holds the foot in side steps, see our comparison of ankle support pickleball shoes.
- Match the outsole to your court. Tyrol made the Smash outsole for indoor and outdoor courts, Diadora rates the Torneo 3 for hard and clay, and K-Swiss sells the Hypercourt Express 3 in separate Clay and Indoor versions. For more, see our indoor pickleball shoes guide.
- If you need a wide size, the Skechers Viper Court Rally comes in Extra Wide and the Hypercourt Express 3 in a men’s 2E; our men’s wide pickleball shoes and wide pickleball shoes for women guides have more, and our comparison of wide toe box pickleball shoes covers shoes whose makers describe a roomy toe box in a usual width.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What pickleball shoe has the most cushion?
No maker in this guide publishes a softness or stack figure that compares across brands, and we found no named tester who measured these shoes side by side, so we do not name one. What the makers do publish is the cushioning feature: a midsole foam such as K-Swiss’s Surgelite+ or Diadora’s Blushield, a cushioning system such as Babolat’s KPRSX, or a cushioned insole such as Skechers’ Move Foam. The comparison table lists each one in the maker’s words.
Q. What is the difference between a cushioned midsole and a cushioned insole?
The midsole is the foam layer built into the shoe between the outsole and the upper; the insole sits on top of it and is often removable. Skechers names a Move Foam insole in the Viper Court Rally and Tyrol a polyurethane insole in the Smash; most of the other makers here name a midsole foam, and Wilson names both a dual-density midsole and a cushioning sockliner.
Q. Is there a difference between a tennis shoe and a pickleball shoe?
The Dink’s 2026 women’s shoe guide puts it this way: pickleball shoes are designed for “the shorter, more lateral court movements that define the game”, while tennis shoes are “often built for the longer baseline sprints of a bigger court”. Several picks here, such as the Diadora Torneo 3, Wilson Rush Pro 5 and K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 3, are tennis shoes their makers sell for hard or all courts. Our guide on whether you can wear tennis shoes for pickleball covers the differences.
Q. Can I play pickleball in running shoes such as Hokas?
Running shoes are designed for forward motion, while court shoes are built for side-to-side movement and grip on a court, as PickleRage’s shoe guide explains. In r/Pickleball’s cushioned-shoe threads, several players advised court or basketball shoes over running shoes. Every pick here is a court shoe.
Q. Which cushioned pickleball shoes come in wide sizes?
The Skechers Viper Court Rally comes in Extra Wide, and the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 3 in a men’s 2E and a women’s Wide. Diadem sells the Court Flo as one unisex width, and the other picks here list one width or a standard fit.
Q. Should I buy a men’s or women’s model?
The picks we link are six men’s, three women’s and one unisex shoe, and several come in the other gender too: K-Swiss sells men’s and women’s Hypercourt Express 3 and Tura Team, and Tyrol a men’s Smash. For more choices by gender, see our men’s pickleball shoes and women’s pickleball shoes guides. For cushioned picks by gender, see our cushioned pickleball shoes for men and cushioned pickleball shoes for women comparisons.
