The short answer
The K-Swiss Women’s Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor has a gum rubber outsole that K-Swiss calls “the ideal choice for all wood court sports”; the adidas Women’s Court Team Bounce 2.0 is sold by adidas as a women’s shoe “for all indoor sports”; and the ASICS Women’s Sky Elite FF 4 is the shoe ASICS calls its new “indoor shoe” for lift-offs and landings.
Our verdict
Our Top Picks: Women’s Indoor Pickleball Shoes
Indoor pickleball usually means a gym floor: sealed wood, or the smooth sports flooring of a rec center. This is not a general list of women’s pickleball shoes. Every pick is a women’s shoe whose maker sells it for indoor courts or names a gum-rubber outsole for wood or gym floors, and each review quotes the maker’s words. Two are the Indoor versions of K-Swiss court shoes; the other six are indoor court and volleyball shoes from adidas and ASICS.
Every pick was new and in stock on Amazon when we checked on October 25, 2026, and each review names the women’s size and colour we link. None of the maker texts we read gives a weight for these women’s pairs, so the guide shows none and does not compare the shoes by weight. For an all-round women’s lineup, see our women’s pickleball shoes guide; for men’s and women’s indoor shoes together, see our indoor pickleball shoes guide.

The court and outsole words are the makers’ own: K-Swiss’s from its website; adidas’s and ASICS’s from their own Amazon listing text, their sites’ search-result descriptions and, for ASICS, its UK site, because adidas.com and ASICS’s US site refuse our reader. “Not published” means we found no weight from the maker for these women’s pairs, so the table shows none.

Matching a shoe to your indoor game
- You want the maker to name gum rubber: K-Swiss Women’s Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor and K-Swiss Women’s Ultrashot Light Indoor. K-Swiss calls the first ideal for all wood court sports and the second a shoe for all indoor sports athletes.
- You want a plain gym shoe from a big brand: the adidas Women’s Court Team Bounce 2.0, the adidas Women’s Novaflight 2 Indoor and the adidas Women’s Ligra 7 are sold by adidas for indoor sports, and Amazon.com held all three offers.
- You also play volleyball: the ASICS Women’s Sky Elite FF 4, ASICS Women’s Netburner Ballistic FF MT 4, and adidas Women’s Crazyflight 6 are volleyball shoes their makers sell for indoor courts.
- You want a higher collar: the Netburner Ballistic FF MT 4 is mid-top; the other seven picks are low-cut.
- You need a wide fit: none of the pairs we link is a wide version, and one owner calls the Sky Elite FF 4 “A little long and narrow”. K-Swiss describes the Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor as having “a generous fit in the forefoot”. See our wide toe box pickleball shoes and women’s extra-wide pickleball shoes guides.
Picks: K-Swiss Women’s Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor, adidas Women’s Court Team Bounce 2.0, ASICS Women’s Sky Elite FF 4, K-Swiss Women’s Ultrashot Light Indoor, adidas Women’s Novaflight 2 Indoor, adidas Women’s Ligra 7, ASICS Women’s Netburner Ballistic FF MT 4, adidas Women’s Crazyflight 6.
Indoor versus outdoor soles for women
What the sole is made for. PickleRage, which runs indoor pickleball courts, writes: “Indoor court shoes have softer, non-marking rubber soles to maximize traction on gym floors, while outdoor models feature tougher outsoles that withstand rougher surfaces like asphalt or concrete.” The Dink, in its women’s shoe guide, puts it the same way: “Indoor pickleball shoes for women should prioritize non-marking rubber outsoles and grip suited for smooth gym floors, while outdoor pickleball shoes need more durable outsole materials that can handle asphalt and textured surfaces.”
What the floor does. Let’s Pickleball writes that “Maple sports floors typically offer less dry grip than acrylic outdoor surfaces.” Its advice: “Choose a soft, non-marking rubber made for indoor courts and a tread that grips in every direction.”
Why volleyball shoes keep coming up. Asked “Are volleyball shoes good for pickleball on wood?”, Let’s Pickleball answers: “Yes—many volleyball shoes use non-marking gum rubber and prioritize lateral stability and cushioning for indoor jumps and cuts.” That is why three of the eight picks are women’s volleyball shoes, chosen only where the maker itself sells the shoe for indoor courts.
What the maker says, not the colour of the sole. A gum-coloured sole is not a promise. We counted a shoe only when its maker’s own words said indoor or gum rubber, and each review quotes them. None of the women’s adidas or ASICS texts we could read uses the word “non-marking”, so we do not claim it for those shoes; if your gym requires non-marking soles, check the shoe with the gym.
How the eight were chosen
How this guide was built
built from manufacturer documentation, published third-party reviews and owner reports; we have not tested these products ourselves.
The tests every pick passed
- A women’s shoe with an indoor statement from its maker. The maker’s site, its own search-result description or its own Amazon listing sells the shoe for indoor courts or names a gum rubber outsole, and the review quotes it. A shop or a player saying a shoe works indoors was not enough on its own.
- Women’s sizing. Each linked pair is a women’s size, and the review names it.
- On Amazon, new, in stock, at or below the maker’s regular price. adidas no longer lists the Ligra 7, so its offer is checked against the list price on its Amazon listing instead. Amazon.com held three of the offers and the K-Swiss storefront two; three were held by other sellers, named in their reviews. Sellers change by size and day, so read the listing before you buy.
- Weight only with its size and source. We do not compare the shoes by weight.
- Few overlaps with our other shoe guides. Six of the eight are not picks in any other shoe guide of ours. The Ultrashot Light Indoor is also a pick in our indoor pickleball shoes guide, and the Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor is picked in another shoe guide of ours; we kept both because K-Swiss names gum rubber for them.
Evidence behind each review and what indoor players recommend
Evidence behind each review
Each review has an evidence line. “Owner reports” means players’ posts, not a test. “Maker specs” means we found no independent test, so the review rests on the maker’s description. For the Sky Elite FF 4 and the Ligra 7 we found owner write-ups on Reddit, from volleyball and squash players; neither post says the owner’s gender or size. The other six rest on the makers’ descriptions. We found no independent lab or editorial test of any of the eight in women’s sizing.
What indoor players recommend
In an r/Pickleball thread asking for women’s pickleball shoes, one reply said: “Depends what surface you’re playing on. If its outdoor hardcourt, get tennis hardcourt shoes. If it’s indoor on wood or rubberised surface then get basketball/volleyball/badminton shoes.” In another thread about wooden gym courts, one player wrote: “I really like volleyball shoes for playing on a gym floor”. These are individual players’ views, but they match what the indoor-court sources above say.
Detailed Reviews
K-Swiss Women’s Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor, Gum sole for wood floors
A woman who plays on wood gym floors and wants a shoe whose maker names a gum rubber outsole for exactly that.
$130.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 11:47 UTCK-Swiss’s women’s Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor page describes the shoe in two ways. Its product description calls it “the update of the top selling Hypercourt Express 2 Indoor model” and says: “Keeping its trademarks of being a lightweight, breathable shoe with a generous fit in the forefoot, the Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor, with its gum rubber outsole, is the ideal choice for all wood court sports.” The same description says its new surgelite+ midsole makes it “even more comfortbale and more stable with no break-in time needed” (K-Swiss’s spelling). The feature panel on the same page, headed “Hypercourt Express 3”, describes the line for tennis instead: “Get the fan-favorite fit, engineered for the demands of modern tennis.” It names Surge 7.0 cushioning and an Aosta II + DragGuard 7.0 outsole for “Durable traction and protection where the court takes its toll.” We count the shoe as indoor on the description, which is K-Swiss’s text for this Indoor product code. K-Swiss’s Amazon listing names a SURGE+ 7.0 cushioning system, a Durawrap Flex upper, a 180 PSC midfoot chassis, and DragGuard 7.0 “in the high wear areas of the toe and heel”.
This is the Indoor version, sold under its own K-Swiss product code with the gum outsole in its description; it is not the standard Hypercourt Express 3. We found no independent review of the women’s Indoor, so this pick rests on K-Swiss’s description. The K-Swiss storefront sold the women’s 8 we link, and stock was marked low.
Verdict
A K-Swiss shoe whose maker names a gum rubber outsole for all wood court sports, with a forefoot K-Swiss calls generous.

adidas Women’s Court Team Bounce 2.0, All-indoor-sports shoe
A woman who wants a plain, low-cut adidas court shoe for pickleball and other gym-floor sports, sold by Amazon.com.
$76.50 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 11:47 UTCadidas’s Amazon text for this women’s listing opens: “Women’s shoes for all indoor sports”. It describes the outsole: “GRIPPY OUTSOLE: Multidirectional outsole provides grip on indoor surfaces.” It adds a mesh upper “with a synthetic leather toe cap for abrasion resistance” and “Lightweight Bounce cushioning”. In the descriptions its US site shows in search results, adidas calls the Court Team Bounce 2.0 “Supportive shoes for indoor all-rounders” and “Cushioned shoes for indoor courts” (adidas.com refuses our reader).
We found no independent review of the women’s Court Team Bounce 2.0; a squash blog’s review of the first version was a sponsored post, so we do not use it. Amazon.com sold the women’s 9 we link, below adidas’s regular price.

ASICS Women’s Sky Elite FF 4, Cushioned volleyball
A woman with average or narrow feet who wants a cushioned indoor volleyball shoe with a forefoot wrap ASICS designs for lateral moves.
$124.95 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 11:47 UTCASICS’s own campaign page calls it an indoor shoe: “The new SKY ELITE™ FF 4 indoor shoe supports powerful lift-offs and delivers responsive cushioning when landing. Feel the energy with each jump and step on the court.” (ASICS UK; ASICS’s US site refuses our reader, and its search result lists this colour as a women’s volleyball shoe.) ASICS’s Amazon listing names an FF BLAST MAX midsole, RISETRUSS for “jumping and changing direction”, and DYNALACING, which it says “keeps the forefoot consistently wrapped for more stable push-offs and when making lateral moves.” ASICS’s text we could read does not describe the outsole rubber.
One owner posted an early review on r/vballshoes: “Fit and materials very similar to Sky Elite 3. Good weight, not too heavy. Feels broken in right out of the box, lot of soft padding.” The same post says it is “A little long and narrow, so may not be ideal for wide-footers”, and that dust on the court did not seem to affect the traction. The post does not name the owner’s gender, size or colour. RacquetGalaxy, a third-party seller, held the offer on the women’s 8 we link, shipped by Amazon, below ASICS’s regular price.
Verdict
ASICS’s new indoor volleyball shoe, built around cushioned landings, for players who want that cushioning and have average or narrow feet.

- Felt broken in out of the box, per one owner
- Forefoot wrap for lateral moves, per ASICS

Cons
- Long and narrow by one owner’s account; they say it may not suit wide feet

- ASICS describes it for volleyball jumping and landing; its text does not mention pickleball
Who should buy it
A woman with average or narrow feet who wants a cushioned indoor volleyball shoe with a forefoot wrap ASICS designs for lateral moves.

K-Swiss Ultrashot Light Indoor

With the features of being a lightweight and comfortable shoe, the Ultrashot Light Indoor uses gum rubber outsole for excellent traction on court. For all indoor sports athletes, the Ultrashot Light Indoor is an ideal shoe for stability, comfort, and a fresh upper design.” K-Swiss’s Amazon listing adds a Durawrap Flex upper “so there is no break-in period”, Surgelite cushioning and DragGuard 7.0 at the toe and heel.
We found no independent review of the women’s Ultrashot Light Indoor, so this pick rests on K-Swiss’s description; it is also a pick in our indoor pickleball shoes guide. The K-Swiss storefront sold the women’s 8 we link, and stock was marked low; other sizes we saw came from PaddlePro, a third-party seller.

The women’s text we read does not describe the outsole.
We found no independent review of the women’s Novaflight 2, so this pick rests on adidas’s description. Amazon.com sold the women’s 8.5 we link, below adidas’s regular price.
Verdict

adidas Women’s Ligra 7, All-direction grip
A woman who wants a budget indoor court shoe for pickleball and other gym sports and likes a snug fit.
$49.50 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 11:47 UTCadidas’s Amazon text calls it “Women’s athletic shoes for indoor sports” and describes the outsole: “SUPER GRIP: Multidirectional rubber outsole for grip in all directions”. It names a mesh upper with synthetic overlays, a synthetic leather toe “for abrasion resistance” and a cushioned midsole. adidas’s US site, in its search result for the Ligra line, calls it “athletic footwear made for indoor sports with a breathable upper and multidirectional grippy outsole”. The Ligra 7 is the generation before the Ligra 8 that adidas now sells; the Ligra 8 women’s listings we checked on Amazon were out of stock.
Squash players discussed it in an r/squash thread. One wrote: “I thoroughly enjoy them. They are super comfy for a squash shoe.” Another wrote: “They are a bit tighter fitting than usual Adidas, but on the court the snugness feels great.” Neither post names the owner’s gender or size. Amazon.com sold the women’s 8 we link, below the list price on its Amazon listing and the Ligra 8’s adidas price; adidas no longer lists the Ligra 7.
Verdict
A budget-tier adidas indoor shoe with an outsole adidas builds for grip in all directions, for players who want a simple gym shoe and do not mind a snug fit.
Evidence: No independent test; owner reports. r/squash owner posts: Ligra 7, gender and size not stated.

ASICS’s Amazon listing names SPEEDTRUSS, “Designed for quick acceleration and quick cutting motions”, FLYTEFOAM cushioning “Combined with a 15mm heel drop”, a “Lean back heel structure” that “Offers a comfortable ankle fit”, and a PRECISION SOLE outsole pattern that ASICS says balances “flexibility, light weight, and grip”. It is the mid-top version.

$67.46 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 11:47 UTCadidas’s Amazon text calls these “women’s volleyball shoes” with “a thin TPU plate in the forefoot midsole”, cushioning that “ignites takeoffs and softens landings while maintaining stability during aggressive lateral movements”, and says that “these court shoes are built to withstand the demands of indoor team sports”. adidas’s Crazyflight line page on its US site, in its search result, says: “Soar to new heights on indoor courts in adidas Crazyflight shoes.” The adidas text we could read does not describe the outsole.

A woman who plays volleyball as well as indoor pickleball and wants one low-cut adidas shoe for both.
Before your first session on a gym floor
- Read the maker’s court words. Every pick here has them, but they differ: K-Swiss’s descriptions name gum rubber, and adidas and ASICS say indoor sports or indoor shoe. The reviews quote each one.
- Know which sole is for which court. PickleRage writes that indoor court shoes have softer, non-marking soles for traction on gym floors, while outdoor models have tougher outsoles for asphalt or concrete.
- Check the fit notes. One owner calls the Sky Elite FF 4 long and narrow and another calls the Ligra 7 tighter than usual for adidas; K-Swiss calls the Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor generous in the forefoot.
- Check the seller. Three picks were held by third-party sellers at or below the maker’s regular price; the seller can change by size and day.
- Ask your facility. Let’s Pickleball notes: “Many schools and rec centers ban outdoor shoes on wood.” If your gym requires non-marking soles, ask before you buy; none of the women’s adidas or ASICS texts we read uses the word.
For indoor balls, see our indoor pickleball balls guide; for the rest of your kit, see what to wear for pickleball.
Women’s shoes we did not pick
- ASICS Women’s Gel-Rocket 12: already a pick in our pickleball shoes compared guide.
- ASICS Women’s Upcourt 6: the only Amazon offers we found were imports priced above ASICS’s US regular price.
- ASICS Women’s Gel-Tactic 12: ASICS now sells the Gel-Tactic 13, and we found no ASICS US regular price for the 12 to check the offers against.
- K-Swiss Women’s Express Light Indoor and Hypercourt Express 2 Indoor: K-Swiss sells both for indoor play, but we could not find an Amazon.com listing we could check.
- Salming Viper SL Women’s: no longer on Salming’s own store, so there was no maker page to check.
- adidas Women’s Ligra 8 and YONEX Women’s Power Cushion 65 Z4: the Amazon listings we checked were out of stock.
- Mizuno Women’s Wave Luminous 3: Mizuno’s US page sells it as a women’s volleyball shoe and describes its XG Rubber outsole as “High traction (grip) to the floor.”, but neither the page nor Mizuno’s Amazon bullets say it is for indoor courts or name gum rubber. Only a product-type segment of its Amazon title says “Indoor Court Shoe”, and we count only the maker’s description, bullets or specs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Which shoes are best for indoor pickleball?
Shoes whose makers build them for indoor floors. Among the women’s shoes here, K-Swiss names gum rubber for the Hypercourt Express 3 Indoor and Ultrashot Light Indoor, adidas sells the Court Team Bounce 2.0, Novaflight 2 and Ligra 7 for indoor sports, and ASICS calls the Sky Elite FF 4 and Netburner Ballistic FF MT 4 indoor shoes. Which suits you depends on fit and how you move; our guide on how to choose pickleball shoes covers fit and support.
Q. Is there a difference in indoor and outdoor pickleball shoes?
Yes, in the outsole. PickleRage writes: “Indoor court shoes have softer, non-marking rubber soles to maximize traction on gym floors, while outdoor models feature tougher outsoles that withstand rougher surfaces like asphalt or concrete.” For outdoor shoes, see our outdoor pickleball shoes guide.
Q. Are volleyball shoes good for indoor pickleball?
Let’s Pickleball answers yes for wood floors: “many volleyball shoes use non-marking gum rubber and prioritize lateral stability and cushioning for indoor jumps and cuts.” Three picks here are women’s volleyball shoes whose makers sell them for indoor courts: the ASICS Sky Elite FF 4 and Netburner Ballistic FF MT 4 and the adidas Crazyflight 6.
Q. What pickleball shoes do the female pros wear?
We found no source that counts what women professionals wear indoors, so we do not name one. The picks here are chosen on what their makers say about indoor floors, not on endorsements.
Q. What is the number one rated pickleball shoe?
No source we read ranks women’s indoor shoes, and we have not tested these shoes ourselves. For a broad lineup of men’s and women’s shoes, see our pickleball shoes compared guide.
Q. Does Nike make a women’s indoor shoe for pickleball?
Nike makes volleyball shoes, but the women’s Nike indoor court shoe we looked for on Amazon could not be checked through Amazon’s product data, so none is a pick here. The adidas and ASICS volleyball shoes above are the women’s indoor options we could verify.
Q. Can I wear tennis shoes for indoor pickleball?
It depends on the outsole.
