The short answer
The Mizuno Women’s Wave Enforce Court AC pairs Mizuno Enerzy foam with a Foam Wave plate, and Mizuno markets it for “tennis or pickleball”; the HEAD Women’s Motion Pro Pickleball is a pickleball-only shoe with a DynaFoam midsole; and the New Balance Women’s Fresh Foam X CT-Rally v2 carries the foam New Balance calls “our most cushioned Fresh Foam experience”.
Our verdict
Our Top Picks: Cushioned Pickleball Shoes for Women
This guide asks one question of every women’s court shoe in it: which cushioning technology is in the midsole, in the maker’s own words? Every pick is a women’s shoe whose maker names its cushioning technology in its own product text, from ASICS FlyteFoam and GEL to New Balance Fresh Foam X and FuelCell, Nike Air Zoom, YONEX Power Cushion+, Mizuno Enerzy, K-Swiss Surgelite+, HEAD DynaFoam and Skechers Ultra Flight. Ten midsole technologies from eight brands, one women’s shoe each.
Every pick was new and in stock on Amazon when we checked on October 25, 2026, and each review names the women’s size and colour we link. Makers do not publish how soft their foams are, so this guide does not rank the shoes by softness or by weight. For men’s and women’s cushioned shoes together, see our cushioned pickleball shoes guide; for an all-round women’s line-up, see our women’s pickleball shoes guide. For the men’s side, see our comparison of cushioned pickleball shoes for men.

Which cushioned women’s shoe for which player
- You want a shoe made for pickleball: the HEAD Women’s Motion Pro Pickleball, ASICS Women’s Gel-Dedicate 9 Pickleball, ASICS Women’s Game FF Pickleball and Skechers Women’s Viper Court Reload are sold as pickleball shoes, and Mizuno calls the Wave Enforce Court AC “Perfect for tennis or pickleball”.
- You also play tennis on hard courts: the Nike Women’s Vapor Pro 3 is a hard court tennis shoe, and K-Swiss’s Amazon text says the Hypercourt Express 3 is “BUILT FOR HARD COURT PLAY”. For whether a tennis shoe suits pickleball, see can you wear tennis shoes for pickleball.
- You want a shoe someone has tested: RunRepeat’s lab tested the men’s Fresh Foam X CT-Rally v2, and Tennis Warehouse playtested the women’s Vapor Pro 3 and Wave Enforce Court AC.
- You need a wider fit: Amazon lists the CT-Rally v2 in a wide women’s width and the FuelCell 796v5 in wide and extra-wide; K-Swiss describes a generous forefoot on the Hypercourt Express 3, and Skechers calls the Viper Court Reload roomy. See also our women’s extra-wide pickleball shoes and wide toe box pickleball shoes guides.
- You want to slip them on: the Viper Court Reload is a hands-free slip-in, per Skechers.
Picks: Mizuno Women’s Wave Enforce Court AC, HEAD Women’s Motion Pro Pickleball, New Balance Women’s Fresh Foam X CT-Rally v2, ASICS Women’s Gel-Dedicate 9 Pickleball, ASICS Women’s Game FF Pickleball, Nike Women’s Vapor Pro 3, New Balance Women’s FuelCell 796v5, K-Swiss Women’s Hypercourt Express 3, YONEX Women’s Power Cushion Sonicage, Skechers Women’s Viper Court Reload.
Ten midsole technologies, in the makers’ words
Each brand gives its cushioning a name. Here is what each maker says about the technology in the women’s shoe we link, word for word where we quote:
| Technology | Maker | What the maker says | Pick |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enerzy + Foam Wave | Mizuno | Enforce Court “utilizes MIZUNO ENERZY and the MIZUNO FOAM WAVE plate to provide excellent cushioning and energy return” | Wave Enforce Court AC |
| DynaFoam | HEAD | Midsole crafted with DynaFoam technology, made with small air cells | Motion Pro Pickleball |
| Fresh Foam X | New Balance | “our most cushioned Fresh Foam experience” | CT-Rally v2 |
| GEL | ASICS | GEL technology placed in the midsole for cushioning | Gel-Dedicate 9 Pickleball |
| FlyteFoam | ASICS | “Helps provide lightweight cushioning” | Game FF Pickleball |
| Air Zoom | Nike | “springy Air Zoom cushioning” | Vapor Pro 3 |
| FuelCell | New Balance | “a responsive, energized ride” | FuelCell 796v5 |
| Surgelite+ / Surge 7.0 | K-Swiss | “Responsive underfoot feel that keeps you light, fast, and comfortable.” | Hypercourt Express 3 |
| Power Cushion+ | YONEX | “responsive POWER CUSHION+ technology” | Power Cushion Sonicage |
| Ultra Flight | Skechers | “Ultra-lightweight, responsive ULTRA FLIGHT® cushioning” | Viper Court Reload |
What the names do not tell you. None of these makers publishes a softness figure for its foam, so we could not rank the names against each other from the makers’ pages. The only softness measurement we found is RunRepeat’s, and RunRepeat tested the men’s CT-Rally v2: its durometer read 34.6 AC on the Fresh Foam X midsole against a 48.0 AC average (lower is softer), and RunRepeat adds that the foam takes a few hours of breaking in before it reveals its true softness. No maker here publishes a figure like that, so a foam’s name tells you what is built in, not how it feels. Some technologies are only part of the midsole: ASICS says FlyteFoam sits in the forefoot of the Game FF, and Nike says it made the forefoot Air Zoom unit of the Vapor Pro 3 smaller than before.
Foam in the midsole, or padding in the insole. Skechers names Ultra Flight cushioning in the midsole and, separately, a removable Arch Fit insole. Every pick here was chosen on the midsole technology its maker names, not on the insole. Our cushioned pickleball shoes guide covers shoes whose makers name only a cushioned insole, and our guide on how to choose pickleball shoes covers fit and support.
A women’s model, not a smaller men’s shoe. Each pick is the women’s version its maker sells under a women’s style or product name, linked in a women’s size. Where a review covers only the men’s version, the review says so.
How the ten were chosen
How this guide was built
built from manufacturer documentation, published third-party reviews and owner reports; we have not tested these products ourselves.
What every pick had to show
- A women’s shoe with a named midsole technology in its maker’s own product text. The maker’s description, feature bullets or spec list had to name the cushioning technology, and the review quotes or cites it. A product title, a category tile or a shop’s description was not enough.
- Cushioning described as comfort, nothing more. We do not repeat any maker’s or reviewer’s claims about the body; the reviews describe foam, feel and fit.
- On Amazon, new, in stock, at or below the maker’s regular price. Amazon.com held five of the offers, ASICS’s and K-Swiss’s own storefronts one each, and 6pm, an Amazon-owned retailer, one; two were held by third-party sellers, named in their reviews. Sellers change by size and day, so read the listing before you buy.
- Weight only with its size and source. Only one women’s weight we found meets that test, so we do not compare the shoes by weight.
- No repeats of our other shoe guides. None of the ten women’s shoes is a pick in another of our shoe guides. Some are the women’s versions of men’s shoes picked elsewhere, and the 796v5 and Hypercourt Express 3 also come in wide versions that other guides pick; we link the standard widths here.
Where the evidence comes from and what r/Pickleball players said about cushioning
Where the evidence comes from
Each review has an evidence line. “Owner reports” means players’ posts, not a test. “Retailer review” means a playtest by a shop that sells the shoe, so it is not independent. “Maker specs” means we found no independent test, so the review rests on the maker’s description. RunRepeat’s lab tests of the CT-Rally v2 and Vapor Pro 3 are independent but used men’s US 9 pairs. Tennis Warehouse’s playtests of the women’s Vapor Pro 3 and Wave Enforce Court cover the women’s shoes, and PickleballCentral playtested the Motion Pro; both shops sell what they review. We found no independent test of any of the ten in women’s sizing.
What r/Pickleball players said about cushioning
In an r/Pickleball thread asking for women’s pickleball shoes, one reply about the Skechers Viper Pro Court said: “I really love my Skechers Viper Pro Courts, there is some cushioning and make them more comfortable”. Another pushed back on soft shoes: “Tennis/pickleball shoes shouldn’t feel cushy or soft like running shoes simply because you’ll be making sudden cuts, stop + goes, quick lateral movements.” In a thread titled “Best cushioned shoes”, several replies steered a poster who had been playing in running shoes toward court shoes. These are individual players’ views; every pick here is a court shoe.
Detailed Reviews
Mizuno Women’s Wave Enforce Court AC, Enerzy foam, all court
A woman who plays pickleball and tennis, wants Mizuno's cushioned all-court shoe and puts comfort ahead of support for hard competitive play.
$120.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 12:48 UTCMizuno’s US page for the women’s Wave Enforce Court AC says: “Perfect for tennis or pickleball, the Enforce Court utilizes MIZUNO ENERZY and the MIZUNO FOAM WAVE plate to provide excellent cushioning and energy return while the flat, outrigger X10 Rubber outsole enhance on-court stability and durability.” Mizuno describes Enerzy as a foam “maintaining softness and resilience”, names POWNCE as a lightweight midsole material, and calls the X10 outsole “Durable carbon rubber that allows for longer wear.”
Tennis Warehouse playtested the women’s shoe. Its summary: “Our testers agreed that these Wave Enforce Courts were fully loaded with enough cushioning for all-day comfort, but they were left craving a bit more support, especially when getting into competitive point play.” Three of the four playtesters commented on the arch: one found the arch support a bit too intense for the first 30 minutes or so, another, the tester with the highest arch, liked the added support but noted that players with flatter feet might not, and a third, who does not usually need much arch support, felt it was hitting them in the wrong spot, noticeable on the walk to the courts but not once they were playing. Tennis Warehouse sells the shoe, so its playtest is not independent. Amazon.com sold the women’s 8.5 we link at Mizuno’s own price.
Verdict
Mizuno’s women’s court shoe for tennis or pickleball, with Enerzy foam and a Foam Wave plate, for players who put cushioning first and can accept less support in hard competitive play, as Tennis Warehouse’s playtesters found.
Evidence: Retailer review (sells it), not independent. Tennis Warehouse women’s playtest: women’s Wave Enforce Court, sizes not all stated.
Specs (women’s 8.5, White/Parisian Blue)
- Midsole: MIZUNO ENERZY foam, MIZUNO FOAM WAVE plate, POWNCE (Mizuno)
- Court: “tennis or pickleball”; AC (all court) (Mizuno)
- Outsole: X10 carbon rubber, flat outrigger (Mizuno)
- Weight: not published by Mizuno
Pros
- Enerzy foam and a Foam Wave plate that Mizuno says give excellent cushioning
- Mizuno markets it for tennis or pickleball
- Playtesters of the women’s shoe praised its cushioning (Tennis Warehouse)
- Sold by Amazon.com at Mizuno’s own price
Cons
- Tennis Warehouse’s playtesters wanted more support for competitive play
- The playtest is by a retailer that sells the shoe
- Weight not published by Mizuno
Who should buy it
A woman who plays pickleball and tennis, wants Mizuno’s cushioned all-court shoe and puts comfort ahead of support for hard competitive play.
HEAD Women’s Motion Pro Pickleball, DynaFoam pickleball shoe
A woman who plays mostly pickleball on hard courts and wants a cushioned shoe made only for that sport.
$109.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 12:48 UTCHEAD’s Amazon text for the women’s Motion Pro says it is “built exclusively for the unique movements of pickleball” and says the midsole is crafted with DynaFoam technology, whose small air cells HEAD credits with lightweight comfort and high energy return. HEAD adds a TPU midfoot shank, a reinforced upper and an outsole “with extended tread coverage” plus a “hard-wearing rubber toecap”. In its search-result description, HEAD’s US page says: “These shoes feature the HEAD Pickleball outsole, designed for excellent grip and durability on hard surfaces.” (HEAD’s site turned our reader away, so we read its description and HEAD’s Amazon text.)
PickleballCentral, which sells the shoe, playtested the Motion Pro and summed up: “Comfort – Extremely breathable, great cushion”. Its review explains that HEAD uses DynaFoam in place of the traditional EVA foam of most court shoes, to make a lighter, more responsive layer of cushioning, and lists the fit as “Fit – Wide toebox, true to size, consider the runners knot”. The review does not say whether the pair tested was the women’s or the men’s version. Amazon.com sold the women’s 8 we link at HEAD’s own US price.
Verdict
HEAD’s pickleball-only women’s shoe, with a DynaFoam midsole and an outsole HEAD designed for hard courts.
Evidence: Retailer review (sells it), not independent. PickleballCentral playtest: Motion Pro Pickleball, version not stated.
Specs (women’s 8, Light Blue/Dark Blue)
- Midsole: DynaFoam; TPU midfoot shank (HEAD)
- Court: pickleball, hard surfaces (HEAD)
- Outsole: HEAD Pickleball outsole, extended tread, rubber toecap (HEAD)
- Fit: wide toebox, true to size (PickleballCentral, a retailer)
- Weight: not in the HEAD text we could read
Pros
- DynaFoam midsole that HEAD builds with small air cells
- Designed only for pickleball, per HEAD
- Outsole HEAD designed for grip on hard surfaces
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- The only playtest we found is by a retailer, and it does not say which version was tested
- HEAD’s site turned our reader away, so we read its description and Amazon text
- Weight not published
Who should buy it

New Balance Women’s Fresh Foam X CT-Rally v2, Fresh Foam X tennis shoe
A woman who wants the women's version of the court shoe RunRepeat rated highly for cushioning, in a standard or wide width.
$149.99 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 12:48 UTCNew Balance’s Amazon text for the women’s CT-Rally v2 says: “Fresh Foam X midsole delivers our most cushioned Fresh Foam experience for incredible comfort”. In its search-result description, New Balance’s page for the women’s shoe adds: “A Fresh Foam X midsole and an external TPU shank at the midfoot create a platform for torsional and lateral …” (the search result cuts the sentence off there, and New Balance’s site refuses our reader).
RunRepeat lab-tested the men’s CT-Rally v2 and wrote: “If cushioning is high up your priority list in tennis shoes, we can’t think of a better option than the New Balance Fresh Foam X CT-Rally v2!” On its durometer it adds: “With a low reading of 34.6 AC, it is one of the softest tennis shoe foams we’ve experienced.” The same review lists “Heavier than average” as a drawback and weighed the men’s US 9 at 14.3 oz; RunRepeat says the women’s version comes in a D wide width. New Balance gives a weight for the women’s shoe without naming the size, so we do not print it. That test covers the men’s shoe; the women’s version we link shares the name and Fresh Foam X midsole. Amazon.com sold the women’s 9 B we link at New Balance’s own price.
Verdict
The women’s version of the tennis shoe whose Fresh Foam X New Balance calls its most cushioned Fresh Foam experience, for players who want the cushioning RunRepeat praised in the men’s version.
Evidence: Independently reviewed, same series. RunRepeat lab test: men’s CT-Rally v2, US 9.
Specs (women’s 9 B, White/Black/Gum)
- Midsole: Fresh Foam X; external TPU shank (New Balance)
- Court: tennis (New Balance); hard court (RunRepeat)
- Outsole: not described in the New Balance text we read
- Widths: B and D on Amazon (women’s)
- Weight: New Balance gives a weight without naming the size, so we do not print it; RunRepeat weighed the men’s US 9 at 14.3 oz
Pros
- Fresh Foam X midsole New Balance calls its most cushioned Fresh Foam experience
- RunRepeat’s lab praised its cushioning (men’s version)
- Women’s wide width listed on Amazon
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- RunRepeat found the men’s version heavier than average
- RunRepeat’s test covered the men’s shoe, not the women’s
- New Balance’s site refuses our reader, so we read its description and Amazon text
Who should buy it
A woman who wants the women’s version of the court shoe RunRepeat rated highly for cushioning, in a standard or wide width.
ASICS Women’s Gel-Dedicate 9 Pickleball, GEL pickleball shoe
A woman who wants an entry-level ASICS pickleball shoe with GEL cushioning, sold by ASICS.
$79.95 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 12:48 UTCASICS’s Amazon text for the women’s Gel-Dedicate 9 Pickleball names GEL technology placed in the midsole for cushioning, a TPU TRUSSTIC unit that “helps to increase stability”, and a “Full-length outsole: Larger contact area to help provide better stability and traction on the court.” In its search-result description, ASICS’s US page for the women’s shoe calls it “A versatile design for enhanced comfort on the court,” and ASICS Canada’s page for the same style lists GEL technology in the midsole for cushioning (both from search-result descriptions, because ASICS’s sites refuse our reader).
We found no independent review of the women’s Gel-Dedicate 9 Pickleball, so this pick rests on ASICS’s description. ASICS’s own storefront sold the women’s 7.5 we link, below ASICS’s regular price.
Verdict
The GEL-cushioned pickleball version of ASICS’s Gel-Dedicate, at the entry-level end of this guide.

ASICS Women’s Game FF Pickleball, FlyteFoam pickleball shoe
A woman who wants a light ASICS pickleball shoe with FlyteFoam cushioning at an entry-level price tier.
$81.00 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 12:48 UTCIn its search-result description, ASICS’s US page for this women’s style says the GEL-GAME FF PICKLEBALL “is multi-functional for all-court players” and that “FLYTEFOAM™ technology in the forefoot helps provide lightweight cushioning.” ASICS’s Amazon text names “FLYTEFOAM cushioning: Helps provide lightweight cushioning”, TRUSSTIC technology that “Improves stability”, and a PU and mesh upper. ASICS’s text we could read does not describe the outsole.
In an r/Pickleball thread asking why the Game FF gets little attention, one owner wrote: “I have the Game FF Pickleball and I like them.” Another reply found it a bit less supportive than other ASICS court shoes, which it said can matter with the quick lateral movements in pickleball. Neither post says the player’s gender or size. 6pm, an Amazon-owned retailer, sold the women’s 9.5 we link, below ASICS’s regular price.
Verdict
A pickleball shoe ASICS calls lightweight and flexible, with FlyteFoam in the forefoot, for players who put a light feel ahead of support.
Evidence: No independent test; owner reports. r/Pickleball owner replies: Game FF Pickleball, gender and size not stated.
Specs (women’s 9.5, Cream/Flash Red)

A woman who wants a light ASICS pickleball shoe with FlyteFoam cushioning at an entry-level price tier.
Nike Women’s Vapor Pro 3, Air Zoom hard court
A woman who plays tennis and pickleball on hard courts and wants Nike's Air Zoom cushioning in a women's fit.
$119.90 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 12:48 UTCNike’s US page for the women’s Vapor Pro 3, in the colour we link, says: “With springy Air Zoom cushioning and a new rubber compound that makes the shoe lighter than previous Vapors, it’s primed to last to match point.” Nike’s Amazon text says it made the forefoot Air Zoom unit smaller than before so the forefoot flexes more.
Tennis Warehouse playtested the women’s shoe: “The Air Zoom unit underfoot, the midsole foam and the added cushioning in the heel collar make these Nike Vapor Pro 3s a plush choice for the action on court.” It weighed the women’s size 8.5 at 12.1 ounces. Its testers did not all agree: one found the smaller Air Zoom units made the shoe feel a bit less bouncy than the Vapor Pro 2, and another wanted more padding under the forefoot. RunRepeat, testing the men’s US 9, credited a “Good mix of cushioning and court feel” but listed “Smaller Zoom Air unit has lower energy return” as a drawback. RunRepeat also disputes the lighter-shoe claim: of Nike’s new rubber compound it wrote, “According to Nike, the Vapor Pro 3 features a new rubber compound that is supposed to make it lighter than the previous Vapors. But, unfortunately, this is not what we found in the lab.” Tennis Warehouse sells the shoe, so its playtest is not independent. FEETARA, a third-party seller, held the offer on the women’s 9 we link, below Nike’s price.
Verdict
Nike’s Air Zoom hard court shoe in its women’s version, for players who want Air Zoom cushioning in a women’s hard court shoe and accept a smaller forefoot Zoom unit.
Evidence: Retailer review (sells it), not independent. Tennis Warehouse women’s playtest: women’s Vapor Pro 3, size 8.5 weighed.
Specs (women’s 9, White/Summit White/Linen/Light Orewood Brown)
- Midsole: Air Zoom (forefoot unit made smaller than before) and midsole foam (Nike; Tennis Warehouse)
- Court: hard court tennis (Nike)
- Outsole: new rubber compound Nike says makes the shoe lighter than previous Vapors (RunRepeat’s men’s test did not find it lighter)
- Weight: 12.1 oz, women’s size 8.5 (Tennis Warehouse, a retailer); not published by Nike
Pros
- Air Zoom cushioning Nike calls springy
- Playtested in its women’s version (Tennis Warehouse)
- Cushioned heel collar, per Tennis Warehouse
- Offer below Nike’s own price when we checked
Cons
- RunRepeat says the smaller Air Zoom unit has lower energy return, and one Tennis Warehouse playtester found it less bouncy than the Vapor Pro 2

A woman who plays tennis and pickleball on hard courts and wants Nike’s Air Zoom cushioning in a women’s fit.

It adds “a durable rubber outsole designed to withstand the lateral movements and hard stops that competitive tennis demands”. In its search-result description, New Balance’s page for the women’s shoe says it “features propulsive cushioning, a responsive FuelCell midsole, and lightweight yet durable materials”. New Balance gives a weight without naming the size, so we do not print it.
We found no independent review of the women’s 796v5, so this pick rests on New Balance’s description. Amazon lists the women’s 796v5 in standard, wide and extra-wide widths. Amazon.com sold the women’s 11 B we link, below New Balance’s price.

Its product description says: “With its new surgelite+ midsole, this update becomes even more comfortable and more stable with no break-in time needed.” Its feature panel names “SURGE 7.0 CUSHIONING” with a “Responsive underfoot feel that keeps you light, fast, and comfortable.”, and its spec list says “CMEVA Midsole”. The same panel describes an Aosta II + DragGuard 7.0 outsole for “Durable traction and protection where the court takes its toll.” and calls the line “engineered for the demands of modern tennis”. The description also keeps “a generous fit in the forefoot”. K-Swiss’s Amazon text says the shoe is “BUILT FOR HARD COURT PLAY”.
We found no independent review of the women’s Hypercourt Express 3, so this pick rests on K-Swiss’s description. K-Swiss’s own Amazon storefront sold the women’s 8.5 medium we link at K-Swiss’s own price. K-Swiss sells a separate Hypercourt Express 3 Wide.

YONEX’s page does not describe the outsole or give a weight.
We found reviews of a Sonicage 3, but we could not confirm that they cover the generation sold on this listing, so we do not use them; this pick rests on YONEX’s description. MP Tennis and Sports, a third-party seller, held the offer on the women’s 9 we link, at YONEX’s own price for this colour.

$89.98 from AmazonAs of Oct 25, 12:48 UTCSkechers’ page for the Viper Court Reload calls it a “roomy pickleball slip-on” with “lightweight ULTRA FLIGHT® cushioning” and lists “Ultra-lightweight, responsive ULTRA FLIGHT® cushioning” among its features. Before you buy a cushioned court shoe
- Look for the technology name, then read the review. A named foam tells you what the maker built in, not how soft it feels; the only softness measurement we found is RunRepeat’s durometer reading of the men’s CT-Rally v2.
- Check which version a review covers. RunRepeat tested men’s pairs; Tennis Warehouse’s Vapor Pro 3 and Wave Enforce Court playtests cover the women’s shoes. Each review here says which.
- Match the court. Mizuno, HEAD, ASICS and Skechers sell their picks for pickleball; Nike, New Balance, K-Swiss and YONEX sell theirs as tennis shoes. See our pickleball shoes compared guide for both kinds.
- Check the width. Amazon lists wide women’s widths for the CT-Rally v2 and 796v5; the other links are standard widths.
- Check the seller. Two picks were held by third-party sellers at or below the maker’s price; the seller can change by size and day.

Women’s shoes we did not pick
- Nike Women’s GP Challenge Pro and Zoom Challenge: both name Air Zoom units, but the GP Challenge Pro listing was not yet in stock and the Zoom Challenge was in stock only in one small size from an unknown seller.
- PUMA Women’s Accelerate NITRO SQD 5: PUMA names NITRO SQD cushioning but sells it as a handball shoe.
- Wilson Women’s Intrigue Tour: Wilson’s text we read names a CMP foam and a shank, not a named cushioning technology.
- YONEX Women’s Power Cushion AD-Accel: a fit, but we picked the Sonicage to cover YONEX once.
- ASICS Women’s Solution Speed FF 4: the in-stock Amazon listing we found was the clay-court version.
- Women’s shoes already picked in our other guides: among them the ASICS Gel-Resolution X, Mizuno Wave Exceed Tour 7 and Wave Enforce Tour 2, New Balance FuelCell 996v6 and SmashStep, YONEX Eclipsion 5 and ASICS Gel-Renma 2. They are in our women’s pickleball shoes, women’s extra-wide pickleball shoes, budget pickleball shoes and ankle support pickleball shoes guides.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What are the most cushioned pickleball shoes for women?
No source we found measures women’s court shoes for softness side by side, and makers do not publish softness figures. Among the picks here, New Balance calls the CT-Rally v2’s Fresh Foam X “our most cushioned Fresh Foam experience”, and RunRepeat’s lab, testing the men’s version, wrote that it could not think of a better option for players who put cushioning first. Tennis Warehouse’s playtesters found the women’s Wave Enforce Court AC “fully loaded with enough cushioning for all-day comfort”.
Q. Does Nike make a cushioned pickleball shoe for women?
Nike’s women’s Vapor Pro 3 is a hard court tennis shoe with what Nike calls “springy Air Zoom cushioning”, and it is a pick here. Nike also makes a women’s Zoom Challenge pickleball shoe with Air Zoom units, but we could not find it in stock on Amazon in a range of sizes.
Q. Which cushioned women’s pickleball shoes come in wide sizes?
Amazon lists the New Balance women’s CT-Rally v2 in a wide width and the women’s FuelCell 796v5 in wide and extra-wide; K-Swiss sells a separate Hypercourt Express 3 Wide; and Skechers calls the Viper Court Reload roomy. Our women’s extra-wide pickleball shoes guide covers wide fits in depth.
Q. Are K-Swiss pickleball shoes good for women who want cushioning?
The K-Swiss women’s Hypercourt Express 3 is a pick here: K-Swiss names a Surgelite+ midsole in its description and Surge 7.0 cushioning on the same page, with a forefoot it calls generous. We found no independent review of the women’s version yet.
Q. What about women with narrow feet?
None of the maker texts we read describes its shoe as narrow, and two describe the opposite: Skechers calls the Viper Court Reload roomy and K-Swiss calls the Hypercourt Express 3 generous in the forefoot. One Tennis Warehouse playtester with narrow feet (a retailer’s playtest) said the Wave Enforce Court uppers hugged them nicely with no extra space; that is one person’s fit, so try the size and width before you play.
Q. Does Brooks make pickleball shoes for women?
We did not find a Brooks court shoe for pickleball on Amazon to check, so none is a pick here. Several replies in an r/Pickleball thread about cushioned shoes steered a poster away from running shoes and toward court shoes; our cushioned pickleball shoes guide answers whether running shoes suit pickleball.
The bottom line
Final Verdict
For a cushioned women’s shoe its maker sells for pickleball, start with the Mizuno Women’s Wave Enforce Court AC (check price), with Enerzy foam and a Foam Wave plate, or the HEAD Women’s Motion Pro Pickleball (check price), with a DynaFoam midsole and a pickleball outsole. For the cushioning RunRepeat’s lab praised in the men’s version, the New Balance Women’s Fresh Foam X CT-Rally v2 (check price) carries what New Balance calls its most cushioned Fresh Foam experience. At the entry-level end, the ASICS Women’s Gel-Dedicate 9 Pickleball (check price) has GEL cushioning, the ASICS Women’s Game FF Pickleball (check price) has FlyteFoam, and the New Balance Women’s FuelCell 796v5 (check price) comes in three widths. The Nike Women’s Vapor Pro 3 (check price) brings Air Zoom to hard courts, the K-Swiss Women’s Hypercourt Express 3 (check price) a Surgelite+ midsole and a generous forefoot, the YONEX Women’s Power Cushion Sonicage (check price) Power Cushion+, and the Skechers Women’s Viper Court Reload (check price) Ultra Flight in a roomy slip-in.
